bend 180 The first idea was to create a fully new convertible lamp. The visible features and functions are the most important part in the design of a product. What happens if you reverse this approach? The user will find the functionality in a playful way itself. Items are hidden in the lamp and can be folded out by rotation. The LEDstrip and the entire upper part can be rotated. It results in completely new shaps and possibilities of usage. The innovative and avant-garde concept is designed as a floor lamp. It is cold molded and consists of flexible plywood and oak veneer. bend 180 gets its name by the curved shape.

16 light Light means living! Without light, nothing exists, no plant, no animal and no human. It is something really elementary and the lampe shows this fact in its visual simplicity. The luminous element is kept truely simple. The LED-strips are diffusely. Thus, the light source is not visible and tangible for the user. The brightness and color can be adjusted. The mutability creates a constant change of light and shadow. With even the smallest rotation changes the direction of the light. This idea is comparable with the daily rotation of the earth around the sun. Day and night begins to exist. Life exists.

tricom The geometric concept tricom turns communication upside down! It is the f irst ever rotating phone. The main idea was to create a home phone with a docking-station for your mobile phone. The concept phone works with a cable. It is located between the headset and the station to avoid radiation. Young people are the target group of this product. It is modern, innovative and unique. The docking station is a loop with a small slot for the mobile phone. Inside of the circular loop rotates a triangular component which is part of the telephone headset.

15 communication Nowadays teenagers and young people listen to music or they are focused on their tablets and computer screens. Unfortunately they often miss a call. The communication solution was to add a simple visual effect. The combination of hearing and seeing could catch the attention of the user. You can call a friend via voice control or simply just say the number. If you get a call the trigonal shape stops to rotate and you can take the call. It is an easy-to-use experience product, the concept is based on our playful instinct.

schmirage .What happens to old windsurfing sails? Most athletes store these sails until they rot in the garage. Why not just re-use the material as a roll-up pencil case? The material is unique, reusable and versatile. The signs of the years-long use are important, this gives each case its own character and tells a story about the f irst life of the product. The sails are designed for extreme conditions. Therefore they are perfectly suited for the upcycling project. The sails are rugged, water resistant and indestructible. Finally I end up with a sturdy and also fancy pencil case for outdoor artists.

15 marketing We are creative. nature-loving. aware. The project was developed in a group of 5 design students. Five characters with different interests but with one goal and the same values of good design thinking. The brand schmirage was founded to arouse endless creativity, sustainability and nature awareness in our society. The roll-up pencil case was created for the use in outdoor areas, especially for all adventurers and active, creative people. The marketing activities (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, website and the shopping portal) are based on the three mentioned core values of schmirage.

amador Molecular Gastronomy meets a SOLID form language. The restaurant Amador in Langen (Frankfurt am Main) is famous for the use of molecular kitchen. The snack booth architecture project was developed for the mentioned restaurant amador. The cuisine has a very experimental approach. Molecular Gastronomy blends physics and chemistry to transform the tastes and textures of food. The result? New and innovative dining experiences. A fundamental part of cooking is water. Therefore, the visitor will constantly be surrounded by water, in form of ref lections and also in the acoustics.

16 solid The solid design language of the building derives from the deconstructivistic architecture and art. There was deliberately chosen a strong contrast between the building‘s architecture and the fragile food. The facade is massive, crystalline and monolithic. On the walls are long narrow windows that look like straight cuts. In the ceiling there is a big water basin, which casts ref lections of the moving surface to the interior. The total height is nine meters. The restaurant is located at a lake. Guests may sit on bar stools and enjoy the view or they can also watch the show cooking.
