In June 2004 The Truck Factory commenced business in Wing Street at Wingfield. Mark Menzie had been operating a business of the same nature on someone else’s behalf, however felt it was time to branch out and begin his own heavy vehicle smash repair business. The business grew rapidly in the 12 months to follow & it wasn’t long before the move was made to a new workshop on Angle Vale Crescent at Burton. The workshop in Wing Street was no longer large enough to cater for the ever growing flow of work that was coming through the doors. Along with the move came even more growth. As time went by the number of staff increased, and the purchase of our first tow truck was made. This expanded the business from one providing customers with a specialised smash repair service to one that could offer them a one stop shop.

We can tow their vehicle from any where in Australia at any time & carry out repairs to any extent should the need arise. Not only that we offer services to refurbish your tired old girl should she be getting on, or we can paint your new vehicle into your fleet colours to match the others you have already on the road.

24 hour Heavy Vehicle recovery service

Our most recent addition and the ‘pride of the fleet’ is our new Peterbilt tow truck. She shows our trademark orange & blue paint work with the Tassie Devil ready to go to work. It’s a pleasure to see it on the road and is testament to Mark’s dedication & hard work during the last 7 years.

CLIPSAL 500 Adelaide, V8 Supercar Circuit March 2-5

Adelaide lights up for Whiteline Racing ! Well here we go, launching into another season of racing, with the opener at the home town of Whiteline Racing – Adelaide, where the streets come alive to the roar and excitement of horsepower and awesome race cars !! The city is abuzz because this event coincides with the Adelaide Fringe event, so there is just so much atmosphere, things to do, shows to go to, cafés overflowing, pavements filled with people dashing from one event to another. Fresh from a break since the last round in November, 2016, the Whiteline Racing Boys were ready to re group and campaign the two Camaros on what is a challenging and exciting circuit ! Mark “Birdman” had a massive amount of work to do, as both Camaros sustained considerable damage in the final round at Homebush, this included :

# 95 – Fabre/Whiteline Camaro •

Extensive repairs to front of car including new guards, grill, bumper, headlights and radiator.

Gearbox ratios changed to suit Clipsal track.

New front brake rotors fitted and front calipers rebuilt.

# 85 – King Springs/Whiteline Racing Camaro •

Major repairs to front, side, and rear of car including new nose panel, new RH guard and inner guard, bonnet, headlights, bumper, RH door, RH rear quarter panel and tail light panel.

Engine removed rebuilt and replaced

Gearbox ratios changed to suit Clipsal.

New front brake rotors fitted and front calipers rebuilt.

Exhaust system repaired

Bump in for this event commenced from Tuesday, with our team A trailer taken to the circuit Tuesday, followed by the transporter with the cars delivered in on Wednesday. The boys started arriving from Wednesday on, with Kingy, Paulie and Adam with wife Vittina and cheer squad his beautiful girls Billie and Poppy flying in. Timmy arrived by road, delivering in a new Benz for Whiteline Transport’s fleet. Jason flew down from Sydney Thursday morning to complete the crew. Boosting the crew this year was Damien Anderson from the Whiteline Workshop and our resident Electrician Wayne from Distinctive Electrical. 6 / 20

Wednesday the boys set up our pit in readiness for what would be a busy Thursday. It was quite late when they finished, so just headed to one of our local pubs the Carlisle for a meal on their way home and were tucked up in bed early – was quite hot through the week, so the heat took its toll. Each morning was a 5 am rise and shine and the wild hog bus was particularly handy getting the crew to and from the track. Thursday the team had two practice sessions and qualifying to contend with.

Thursday, 2nd March, 2017 The first practice session was at 10.10 and was scheduled to be a 20 minute session. Unfortunately, oil on the circuit resulted in Rusty French impacting heavily into the wall with the session red flagged. Adam only managed to complete 3 laps in his 95 Fabre/Whiteline Camaro with no representative time to report, with the short time on the track bedding in brakes and getting used to the track, for Adam his last run in Adelaide was 2005. Same situation prevailed for Mark in his 85 Whiteline/King Springs Camaro completing 4 laps before the sudden end to the session, basically just shaking down and reconnecting to ‘his girl’ since the November break and re-familiarising himself with the Adelaide street circuit. For Kingy after such heavy impact at Homebush it was an opportunity to get a feel for the repair work that had taken place out at The Truck Factory and in the Whiteline Racing workshop. Kingy did have some front spoiler damage sustained from mounting the rumble strips. The second practice session was held at 1.05 and again a 20 minute session, this time the boys got to use the full session to prepare for qualifying. Mark completed 10 laps in the Whiteline/King Springs 85 Camaro with the best time clocked on the last of the laps with a 1.323583, with driver and crew happy with the set up, team mate Adam, in the 95 Whiteline/Fabre Camaro also completed ten laps, with the best time achieved on the 8th with a 1.318125. Adam and his crew were also pleased with how the Camaro was handling at this early stage. Qualifying took place at 4.10 and was a 20 minute session. Both boys struggled with getting a clear track in the traffic to chase ‘that’ blinder of a lap. That said, Kingy put his 85 Camaro through 6 laps achieving his best time on the 3rd with a 1.30801 and would place him on the 4th row out of 8. Adam was able to clock up 7 laps, achieving his best time in the 95 Camaro on the 6th with a 1.300467 placing him 4th off the grid, with Bowe, Johnson, Hansford 1 – 3 respectively in front of him. Thursday night the team enjoyed a home cooked meal and again feeling the effects of the heat, were early to bed ready for a sparrows start to prepare for the 1st race.

Saturday, 4th March, 2017

Race 1 was held at 2.30 and was to be 10 laps, however the program was running behind due to an exhibition car hitting the wall prior to our event, so had a dominos effect.

Race 2 was held at 10.40 and was a 10 lap event. Starting positions were as placed in race 1, so Adam was off the front row in his 95 Fabre/Whiteline Camaro and Mark was off the 3rd row out of 5 in his 85 King Springs/Whiteline Camaro. Adam sensationally led the race through Lap 1 after edging out Bowe on the Senna Chicane, however, JB would regain the lead the following lap in again record lap times for the Adelaide circuit and for the front runners their positions would remain unchanged, however, behind JB & Adam the rest of the field was battling it out with Kingy initially getting the jump on Fisher & Gomersall to be 3rd after the first lap, but was battling with gearbox issues, with it jumping out of 4th gear which allowed the 35 & 9 entry to move back around Kingy. Battling on, Kingy was able to stay in reach and took advantage of a Gomersal spin and hung onto 4th behind JB, Adam, Fisher 1 – 3 respectively so again another great result for Whiteline Racing with a 2nd and 4th.

It was a clean rolling start for both the Whiteline boys out of their qualifying positions 4 and 8. Adam was on the pace in his 95 Fabre/Whiteline Camaro following Stevie J in 17 Mustang Sally and JB in his 18 Torana for the first 4 laps and was there ready for the pounce when Stevie J had an oil line issue entering turn 8 on the 4th lap ! Adam was now in 2nd, chasing JB who had developed a healthy lead. As Adam took advantage of Johnsons mechanical miss fortune, the 95 Camaro was slipping and sliding in the oil which allowed Hansford in the No. 6 Torana to close the half second gap and this in turn created sensational racing as Adam fought to hang onto 2nd spot watching his mirrors, which became an exercise in defensive driving managing to hold Hansford out. Team mate Mark in the 85 King Springs Camaro had an excellent start taking advantage of Gomersall in the 35 Torana going wide on the Wakefield Street 4th corner which allowed Kingy to move up around Gomersall and Tilley to be in 6th, this combined with Stevie J’s mechanical issue which resulted in a dnf, meant the King Springs/Whiteline Camaro finished 5th, so race 1 a 2nd and 5th for the team was a great start. JB won the race, in a track record time of 1.296034.

On return to the pit, for the 95 Fabre/Whiteline Camaro some body damage from rubbing panels and for Kingy the crew would try to diagnose what was causing the 85 King Springs/Whiteline Camaro to jump out of gear. A minor oil leak had become visible at the back of the engine, but was only minor and whilst not fixed at the track will need to be sorted prior to round 2 at Winton. So too the gear box issue, temporary measures were put in place to assist Kingy with the gearbox, however, it will need to be removed prior to the next round – Birdman seems to think it could be residual damage from the heavy hit at Homebush

Post race Birdman commented that the 95 Fabre/Camaro was struggling with set up lasting deep into the race and in addition was down on speed by a few klms per hour to the front runners, most notable at turns 7 – 9 and would try to overcome this.

November, 2016. The crew prepared the cars in readiness for the final race on Sunday, then were able to leave the track early afternoon for a bit of R & R. Within minutes of being home, they were out of their race uniforms with boardies and thongs the new ‘uniform’ for the day. I went and got a great feed of fresh prawns and oysters and the team enjoyed a relaxing day on the water. Gotta say the seas were a tad rough heading home, but a lot of fun was had – everyone hit the hay early – the sea air does that hey ?

The crew beavered away preparing the cars for Saturday’s race before putting on their covers for the night. Friday night a Whiteline Racing bowling challenge took place at Woodville Bowl in the Spinners Lounge, with medals for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and last up for grabs. The medals were decided over two games, with drinks and food platters to keep everyone energized !! Check the pics in other news page 15.

Sunday, 5th March, 2017

The results were : 1st – Bobby 2nd – Birdman 3rd – Adam Last – Billie Bressington Great fun was had by all.

Race 3 was held at 9.20 and is a trophy race. It was meant to be 10 laps, however was reduced to 7. It was a reverse grid race, which meant Kingy in his 85 King Springs Camaro was starting out of 13 and Adam in the Fabre/Whiteline Camaro out of 17. First lap, disaster for the field with multiple cars heavily damaged – the Ford Mustang of Terry Lawlor impacted the wall big time, not a straight panel left and as this was unfolding several other cars became involved with no where to go. Fisher, Lawlor, Richards and Tilley were all dnf’s, several D I R Kother K LY N Scars M I T H including our 85 King Springs/Whiteline entry sustained damage as a consequence. The safety car remained out for two laps as the debris was cleared. Both the Whiteline Camaros were able to complete the race, with 85 8th and 95 9th, however, information later received suggests that the winner 88 Karanfilovski received a time penalty for a restart issue and as a result impacted on the finishing positions elevating both boys up the order a spot. With the penalty handed down, the win would go to Brad Tilley in the 28 Ford Mustang. P

Both the boys collected trophies for the weekend, in the Pro Master category, Mark finished 2nd overall to John Bowe and Adam took out first place in Pro Am. After the presentation, the team enjoyed a great lunch prepared by Brenton in the A trailer, then it was off to the airport for everyone to head their separate ways. For the Whiteline Team the start to 2017 was filled with success on the track and a whole lot of mate ship and fun together as a team.

BOWE AND JOHNSON ON CLIPSAL 500 FRONT ROW MAR 2, 2017

Ryan Hansford qualified third on his debut in the category, the Multispares-supported Holden Torana having been fast since the first practice session on Thursday morning.

JOHN BOWE edged out Steven Johnson to score his seventh Clipsal 500 pole position today in qualifying for round one of the 2017 Touring Car Masters series.

Wales driver picking up his strong form from where he left off in 2016.

Despite having just 30-laps of experience in the car under his belt at a pre-event test, Hansford was quickly on the pace in the yellow and blue Torana, run by notable Queenslander Brett Peters. A late charge from Adam Bressington saw him haul his No. 95 Whiteline Racing Chevrolet Camaro to fourth place late in the session: The New South

Bowe’s best of 1m28.87s was 0.3 seconds quicker than Johnson as the pair set up a potentially classic season opener tomorrow.

The strong result was also a reward for Whiteline Racing on their home turf – the long-term Adelaidebased TCM outfit based in the city’s Northern suburbs.

Today’s effort was Bowe’s seventh pole at the Adelaide venue and continued his streak of starting on the front row every time he competes in the category at the famous street circuit.

Andrew Fisher will start race one fifth in his brandnew Ford Falcon GTHO, the stunning qualifying performance just reward for the team’s more than 12-month long build program.

As is his tradition, Bowe punched out his fastest time on his third lap before retreating to pit lane.

Fisher edged out BigMate Racing’s Jason Gomersall (Torana A9X) on the third row, while the flying Anglomoil Valliant Pacer of Cameron Tilley was seventh.

Johnson was lucky to even qualify, after a burst oil line sidelined his Team Johnson Ford Mustang mid-way through the 20-minute session and just moments after he had jumped to second place. The Ford was forced to miss the second practice session earlier in the day due to the same issue, the team hastily making repairs prior to qualifying to enable Johnson to at least make the circuit. His 1m28.9274s lap was good enough for second grid, banking the time just before the line failed again and forced him back to pit lane.

8 / 20

Adam Bressington’s teammate Mark King qualified eighth, Jim Richards ninth in the Shannons AMC Javelin and Brett Youlden 10th in his HQ Monaro GTS 350.

The IROC Challenge cars will start tomorrow’s race separately, running their own grid behind the main TCM pack for the race one rolling start. Today’s running wasn’t without drama: Cameron Mason bringing an early end to the qualifying session when an apparent oil line drama saw fluid spilled on his rear tyres. After surviving a spin at turn nine, he then spun again at turn 11 whilst trying to return to the paddock – impacting the tyres and bringing out the red flag. Earlier in practice, open-wheel star Thomas Randle was taken out of the event almost before it even began: caught in the oil from another car on the high-speed entry to turn one, where he impacted the tyre barriers in the Senna chicane. Unfortunately the damage to the Skye Sands Mustang was too much to repair to return it to action this weekend. Local favourites Greg Keene and Amanda Sparks both suffered engine issues in their respective Porsche 911RSs, casting doubt on their participation for the remainder of the weekend. This year marks the 10th visit to the Clipsal 500 Adelaide for the Touring Car Masters Series – and in the nine previous visits the driver to score pole has gone on to win the first race on only four occasions.

JOHNSON DENIED AS BOWE WINS RACE 1 MAR 3, 2017 STEVEN JOHNSON has been denied a maiden victory for his new Team Johnson outfit as John Bowe swept to victory in the opening race of the 2017 Touring Car Masters series. Starting from second, Johnson stormed to the lead at the first corner of today’s seven-lap race and was leading his old teammate mid-race before the main engine oil line on Mustang Sally failed, sending him to pit lane and out of the race. Johnson’s DNF ensured that Bowe opened his account in the best possible way, taking his Holden Torana SL/R 5000 to the 86th race win of his TCM career and an early championship lead in his title defence.

Johnson had surged to the front early in today’s race and was withstanding an attack from Bowe when the oil line failed as he entered turn eight on the fourth of seven laps.

RS - completing a superb day for the Adelaide based Whiteline Racing team with two cars in the top five.

Bowe inherited a comfortable lead and ultimately won by five seconds as the battle for the final spots on the podium heated up.

Cameron Tilley was sixth in the Anglomoil Valliant Pacer, a stout battle all race long with the Big mate Racing Torana A9X of Jason Gomersall decided by less than a cars length as the pair battled to the line for sixth and seventh.

Johnson’s non-finish elevated Adam Bressington to second place, the Whiteline Racing Chevrolet Camaro making a strong start and leaping to third on the opening lap.

Brett Youlden (HQ Monaro), Tony Karanfilovski (Mustang) and Adam Garwood (Torana) completed the top-10. Tony K’s Mustang was one of the big movers in the race – leaping to ninth from his 12th

He then spent a majority of the race defending from Ryan Hansford’s Holden Torana, the Queenslander making a superb debut to Touring Car masters competition by scoring a top three finish on debut.

place qualifying effort.

Bressington and Hansford also finished 1-2 in the ProAm class rankings while also completing the outright podium. Andrew Fisher finished fourth on the debut of Jesus Racing’s new Ford Falcon GTHO, while Whiteline Racing’s Mark King improved from his eighth-placed starting position to finish fifth in the 1970 Camaro

Leo Tobin won the Pro Sports class in his Ford Mustang coupe while Sven Burchartz headed home Bernie Stack to take out the opening race of the IROC Challenge series. Aside from Johnson, Al Bougen’s Ford Mercury Comet and Terry Lawlor’s Ford Mustang also failed to finish today’s race.

BRESSINGTON CHALLENGES, BOWE WINS RACE TWO IN ADELAIDE MAR 4, 2017

The Yellow Camaro edged out Bowe though the Senna chicane, though Bowe worked his way past a lap later to assume a lead he’d never lose.

Steven Johnson finished fifth, charging from 18th place in Mustang Sally after yesterday’s unfortunate non-finish.

Once in front he eased away to another win, resetting the TCM lap record in Adelaide to 1m29.2812s in the process.

Gomersall was sixth in the BigMate Torana, Jim Richards seventh in the Shannons AMC Javelin and Brad Tilley eighth in his Ford Mustang.

Bressington was a safe second - however behind him there was a huge contest for the final spot in the top three.

Tony Karanfilovski and Adam Garwood finished ninth and tenth, despite contact between the Mustang and Torana saw the young Tasmanian spun through 360-degrees after contact in the final corner early in the race.

A STERN challenge from Adam Bressington’s Whiteline Racing Chevrolet Camaro wasn’t quite enough to unseat John Bowe’s run at the pointy-end of the Touring Car Masters field, today at the Clipsal

Jason Gomersall then assumed the spot in his A9X Torana, but dropped to sixth place on the fifth lap during a four-way dice that included Andrew Fisher, Mark King and Cameron Tilley.

500.

Fisher then assumed third place and was able to hold the spot through to the end of the race, delivering the brand-new Falcon GTHO its first TCM podium.

Bowe took his second win from two starts this morning, however it was Bressington who applied the most pressure and became the first person to lead Bowe’s Torana this year when he jumped to the point on the first lap.

Ryan Hansford briefly held the spot on lap one; however steering damage on the opening lap ruled out the Multispares Torana that had impressed on Friday.

Cameron Tilley was a non-finisher in the Anglomoil Pacer after a strong showing early in the race, while Rory O’Neill and Hansford were also non-finishers. Leo Tobin won ProSports by finishing 15th outright in his THD Motorsport Ford Mustang. South Aussie Bernie Stack levelled the score in the all-Porsche IROC Challenge affair, beating race one winner Sven Burchartz by less than 0.3 seconds today – Manny Palyaris third.

Mark King also improved one spot from the first race, grabbing fourth to continue the strong from from the Adelaide-based Whiteline Racing this weekend. Whiteline Racing

TCM MEDIA RELEASE

UPDATE: TILLEY HANDED WIN MAR 5, 2017

As such Tilley won from Garwood and Ryan Hansford. Given the penalty occured during a trophy race, the change of result does not change the round points order. The first corner was a wild affair as Ford Mustangs stole the headlines – for good and bad reasons. While Cameron Mason and Brad Tilley both caught enormous slides and continued onwards, Terry Lawler was less fortunate and after clipping the turn two kerb, made contact with the inside circuit wall.

UPDATE: TONY KARANFILOVSKI has had his feature race win denied after being penalised 22 seconds by race control for a Safety Car re-start infringement, handing Brad Tilley the win.

That impact then sent him into the path of an unfortunate Jim Richards and Cameron Tilley, with all three cars immediately out of the race, while Brett Youlden and Sven Burchartz were also delayed.

Karanfilovski had originally taken the flag first, however a restart after an early safety car saw him accelerate too early and, as such, be penalised by race control.

On the restart Karanfilovski, Tilley and Garwood were able to pull away from the field while behind an enormous fight was underway for fourth place – several heavy-hitters boxed in behind Alan Boughen’s Ford Mercury Comet.

The TIFS Warehousing Ford Mustang driver made the best start in today’s trophy race and led the field through the Senna chicane, avoiding an unfortunate crash behind him to take the early lead.

Boughen was able to keep the field behind him for several laps, while behind him John Bowe, Steven Johnson, Mark King, Adam Bressington and Ryan Hansford more all battled over the minors.

A three-way battle with Brad Tilley and Adam Garwood saw the trio finish in that order, with Tony K storming home to record a stunning win before he was penalised.

10 / 20

continued

Hansford was the first to escape through the Mercury racer, ultimately completing his charge from 18th position in fourth at the end of the 7-lap affair.

Steven Johnson stormed his way to fifth, but had to pass, then re-pass John Bowe several times after a highly competitive mid-race battle. Wayne Mercer finished sixth, Bowe seventh, Mark King eighth, Adam Bressington ninth and Cameron Mason tenth. After running as high as fourth, Boughen was forced to take to the grass at the final corner on lap six – ultimately dropping to 14th at the flag. Despite the damage at the start of today’s race, this weekend’s racing was highly competitive and sets a strong tone for the season ahead. Leo Tobin won the Pro Sports class by two points, ahead of Sven Burchartz and Darren Beale, while Adam Bressington stormed to the top of the ProAm standings thanks to his strong weekend – one that saw him trail John Bowe home for second outright in race two. Andrew Fisher’s new Falcon finished second in ProAm and Tony Karanfilovski third. Bowe won the ProMasters round ahead of Mark King and Jason Gomersall, while South Australian Bernie Stack edged Burchartz and Rohan little for the IROC Challenge win. The next round of the Touring Car Masters will see the series travel to regional Victoria and Winton Motor Raceway on May 19-21.

The Bressington Family Xmas Getaway It is fair to say family Bressington squeeze as much out of life as they can and in the off season over xmas they took to Wakeboarding in jindabyne to life on pittwater.

Smooth Sailing for Whiteline Racing Saturday’s program at Clipsal saw us with an early Saturday race – the plan was if all went well and mechanically all was sound for Sunday the crew would get away and have some R & R aboard the Nuggett Lee indulging in some huge SA Prawns and fresh oysters – a great afternoon was had.

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Whilst in Adelaide for Dad's racing, the Bressington girls took time out to enjoy the Zoo and other great activities on in Adelaide as part of the fringe and to top it off, Poppy was celebrating her birthday - I'm told she reckons it was a great birthday !!

Bowling Challenge Woodville Bowl, Spinners Room was the place to be – the team were battling it out for ‘Flintstones’ inspired medals – was very competitive, with Bobby taking out first, Birdman 2nd – yes Birdy with all his aches and pains, Adam Bresso third and Billie Bressington taking out the highly prestigious and difficult to achieve, last medal !! We enjoyed drinks and food platters, then some fun on the slot machines – a great night for the team away from the track.

Feeding of the Lions Bobby’s younger son Andrew and his partner Dori organized the best adventure at Monarto, putting the lions to bed but not before giving them their tea !! was a wonderful experience for us all, see the pics.

ooops, mild

WILD HOGS TAKE ON 3 STATES ! Well, unlike other rides, the weather started out ideal for the first leg of our weekend away to Swan Hill. We departed on Friday 10th March, meeting at Gawler for breakfast at Taste. Refuelling at Renmark and Buronga our lunch spot was the Gol Gol Pub which a fun start to the day. The last stretch to Swan Hill was challenging because it had really hotted up, so much so the hogettes retreated to the comfort of the bus so ably driven by Liam aka “Roadie”. Friday night we had tea at the Commerical and decided over a meal that given the exhaustion of the heat and the fact that at the Pioneer Village at Swan Hill a wine and food festival was happening we would park the bikes up and just enjoy a day at the Big 4 Caravan Park and the Village. We had breakfast on the Saturday at 202, Beveridge Street walked around and did some retail therapy then met at Coles to buy groceries for a bbq at the park. That night was the start of an UNO challenge which ran for a couple of nights, please ask who won ??? Hmm, Shazzy ‘aka’ rebel came from behind to win !!

Sunday the weather became typical of what the HOGS have got used to, yep windy and rainy – so we all headed off on the bus to Echuca, but not before a fantastic breakfast at Spoons. There was also a local market on, so did what girls do, shopped then did more retail therapy at Echuca and helped the local economy. We managed to catch up with Leo and Deb Tobin – fellow Touring Car Masters mates who are locals at the Echuca Hotel. Carl took to the drivers seat of the HOG bus and we got back to Swan Hill in time to frock up for dinner at Java Spice a highly awarded Indonesian restaurant. With several of the HOGS booked to go to the Adele concert our departure from Swan Hill was early with a breaky stop at Ouyen, coffee at Tailem Bend then home. All in all was a great trip, everyone was safe, no one had any mechanical issues just sad that like all good things they come to an end – but only for now, we’ll put our hog heads together to work out the next adventure. Thanks to Sharpie who was tour captain for this one and sussed out our itinerary – thanks mate !

The Uno challenge over 2 nites was very intense – overall winner, Rebel !!!

Flower Power – copping flack all weekend for not giving Tracey flowers, Richard gave in !

Liam aka “Roadie” did a great job all weekend driving the HOG Bus.

Carlos, aka “Humphrey” took to the wheel for the drive back from Echuca to Swan Hill.
