NATIONAL PEACE REVIVAL SUMMIT THE PROJECT The National Peace Revival Summit is a project which has come into existence to direct people’s attention to the importance of peace in a society and the need for a sustainable development in a country. This project therefore is a platform for public debate, lecture and community mobilization on the various approaches to strengthen peace building in Nigeria. THE NEED FOR THIS SUMMIT Nigeria since 2009 when it transited into democratic governance has experienced various ethnical and religious violence of a very high degree. About 2 million lives have been lost, while properties worth billions of naira destroyed. The relative peace that the country was known for before and after independence disappeared; and woes of destruction surfaced. Economic and social lives of people have been jeopardized due to the incessant crisis arising as a result of religious and ethnical discrimination and extremism, hate and intolerance among others. Due to this social menace, Christians and Muslims have seen one another as dare enemies as they no longer respect and tolerate one another. Living at ease in diversity is now a culture past as everyone is scared of the BOKO HARAM GROUP and unsure of the exact participants. The consequence however, is the indiscriminate killing and destruction of lives and properties as we have seen in the northern parts of the country. Today, economic and social activities in that region have been totally grounded. Government on their own part can no longer single-handedly guarantee the safety of lives and properties in this region. Resurgences of this violence in other parts of the country need much to be desired. The South/South and the South East whose indigenes are mostly affected result into cold wars of hate, religion and racial discrimination against the Muslims. Subsequently, resurgences in the South Western Nigeria are well pronounced. Today, it is no longer fallacy that Nigeria is the most populated nation in Africa with abundant human and material resources with about 270 ethnic groups and languages. Hence if care is not taken, the African economy would no longer
strive. Due to this fact and after a careful study and analysis of the Nigerian situation, our organization has decided to hold this peace summit in the six geopolitical zones in Nigeria in order to assist our leaders in their pursuit for peace. This also will help assist our Present government in their Transformation Agenda. Our major concern now is to evolve a frame-work for the effective and efficient management of the crisis by joining heads together to explore alternative peace possibilities in Nigeria. Against the background of the antecedent of insurgency in the recent past and currently which poses as a threat to the unity of our dear nation, and leaving us all in a chaotic state of mind and mentality, as every citizen of Nigeria from the six geo-political zones of the nation now sleeps and carry out their daily endeavors with one eye open not undermining the dreaded sectarian group ‘Boko Haram’ agenda which is to destabilize the peace and unity of our which our Nation is built upon. As part of the effort to ensure that the peace of Nigeria remains solid and ever blazing, The Face of Democracy Advocate Queen- Miss Onyekaba Chioma Rosemary, deems it fit out of her patriotic concern to ensure that peace continues to reign consistently in Nigeria thereby undertaking the task to champion: ‘’NATIONAL PEACE SUMMIT TOUR’’ Across the Six Geo-political Zones of Nigeria with the theme: ‘’EXPLORING ALTERNATVE PEACE POSSIBILITIES IN NIGERIA’’. OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT 1. The summit will strive to address the lingering violence in Nigeria and seeks to evolve a Strategic Action and Implementation Plan that would assist various other peace building groups and agencies working on the northern Nigeria crisis. 2. It would create an opportunity for collaborative efforts both internationally and locally geared towards the protection of lives and properties, particularly, the vulnerable children, youths and women. 3. It would serve as a Frame-Work for Government, NGOs and International donors to identify areas of concern where effective crisis management efforts could be sought.
4. It would also afford relevant stakeholders with genuine interest to move beyond Tolerance and Inter-faith Dialogue or Talk to Inter-Faith Action.
METHODOLOGY The Summit shall hold in six geo-political zones in Nigeria for one day each. International and Local Stakeholders and Speakers will be invited to educate the people. It will first take off on the 4th of October, 2014 in Abuja, and continue in other geo-political zones using a one-week interval spacing technique.

INTRODUCTION OF THE ORGANIZATION The Face of Democracy Organization is made up of patriotic young men and women who are determined to give a face to the growing democracy of our nation. Our primary aim is to empower and encourage Nigerian youths to participate in the democratic process by raising a mouthpiece for the people before the government to crusade against ill government and also to promote good governance.
The project is divided into three categories- Face of Democracy Pageant, National Peace Summit and Democracy Heroes Awards, which was birthed to celebrate role models of democracy in our society. It was designed to shower accolades on women and men who through their persistent commitment, tenacity of purpose and passion have contributed meaningfully in strengthening our nascent democracy and also to assist the government in their quest for peace and a better Nigeria.
Face of Democracy Pageant projects young female and male Nigerians with a prudent and intelligent character with the ability to mobilize Nigerian Youths and to encourage the Nigerian-girl-child and women to participate in democratic governance.
It’s important to note that the project is geared towards raising a mouthpiece for the people in all sectors and promoting good governance using tourism, culture and entertainment as a tool.
OUR VISION To promote good governance and inculcate Nigerian youths in the activities of the government.
OUR DRIVE To preserve the efforts of our democracy heroes and strengthen the fledgling democracy of Nigeria to attain our founding father’s dream of a better nation. Consequently, in 2013, some group of youngsters then decided to come together and created the Face of Democracy Organization to help end the violence and advocate for mass electoral participation in government for good governance.

THE MASTER PLAN The situation is now becoming dreadful, as Nigerians are daily inundated with gory reports and photographs of disasters, tales and rumors of suicide attacks, people's displacements, kidnaps and loss of lives via accidents, robberies as well as assassinations.
Apart from the dire situation, conflicts in workplaces, communities and the world around us continue to exact growing economic, political and social costs, some social scientists stress.
Such is the reality of our time. Issues we once thought were alien to our country have now become part and parcel of our lives, while the citizens, particularly mothers and children, are increasingly becoming traumatized.
The most unfortunate spinoff is that children, who read newspapers, magazines and watch these horrors on television, are gradually becoming numb. The situation is apparently becoming more worrisome to the government, as a traumatized citizenry can never experience a meaningful growth.
For instance, the people of Jos, Borno, Yobe, etc; whose states are gradually becoming a flashpoint, has repeatedly lamented about the cataclysmic situation in their states where people were being killed and maimed almost on a daily basis. It started as a child's play until it festered and became a monster. Most
Nigerians now live in fear, as anything disastrous could happen to anybody, anywhere; anyhow.
As the country continues to face growing security challenges, the citizens now live in fear day in, day out, forcing many to ask certain questions: Must fear become part of the everyday life of the people? Must women and children continue to become widows and orphans? Must men continue to single-handedly bear the burden of joint family responsibilities? Must Nigeria continue to be at the receiving end; economically and socially?
Such questions are quite apt and thought-provoking but they subtly indicate a sense of helplessness and hopelessness, some observers note.
One point is, however, strikingly clear: Tangible efforts should be made to resolve the security crisis in a pragmatic way.
While some suggest the deployment of soldiers to perceptible flashpoints and crisis-prone states, others insist that the dialogue option is more advantageous in addressing the crisis. "Women are crucial to the peace process in the country and peace could begin if women live peacefully with their spouses. Women are useful; if we were of no use, God would not have created us’’.
"The Mission cannot move forward without the active participation of the women most especially women of high ranks.. Women are better managers of peace; I want to appeal to you to everyone to continue to preach, talk and work for peace.". This is because women and children remain the major casualties in the event of any disaster and the recognition of this incontrovertible fact, perhaps, propelled the Face of Democracy Advocate to initiate peace campaigns across the six geo-political zones in the country.
Every Nigerian is important; he or she has something to contribute to the country's development. It is only by loving one another that we, as a people, can move forward and make meaningful progress. The exposure of women to risks and their central position in the family aptly explain why they must always remain in the frontline of peace advocacy.
In order to expand the frontier for the attainment of peace, all the Face of Democracy Organizers have come together to put their heads together with the young and old in Abuja on the 4th of October, 2014 to strategize on how to achieve peace and resolve conflicts in the continent.
The Face of Democracy are expected to assess existing structures, capacities and strategies for peace building and conflict resolution, with a view to proffering solutions to perceptible lapses.
This is because of the universal recognition of the fact that conflicts are bound to crop up among individuals, families, groups, communities, societies, nations and even ideologies. However, it is the ability to proffer antidotes and implement them that makes the difference.
The Face of Democracy in line with their responsibility to protect the citizens; promotes nation-building efforts and advocates for mass electoral participation.
After years of obvious attempts to achieve peace in Nigeria, it is heart-warming that the Face of Democracy Advocate and the above organization have set up this platform to explore various peace options that will help better our great country.
The master-plan, as stated above is a comprehensive analysis of the life development imperatives, challenges and opportunities in Nigeria which puts into perspective the economic growth; human and community needs, institutional development, physical infrastructure and natural environment of our country.
BENEFITS OF THE MASTER PLAN Nothing should be allowed to stall the successful implementation of the master plan. Proper development of Nigeria would create more global economic opportunities in the area, stable oil and gas prices, which means more income for the government, in addition to the most needed peace.
All parties involved in the implementation of the master plan should do their best to provide the resources to remove the blight that Nigeria has become. Government has to provide leadership in this direction.
The success of this task does not only rest on providing the necessary infrastructure for the socio-economic development and peace of the people, but the people themselves must be involved from the policy formulation stage. We must not assume that we know what the people need. That was the mistake made by past administrations at various levels of government and the organizers of the master plan must not allow their intervention and participation in this plan to go the same way.
The main focus of this work therefore will be to critically consider and discuss some key success management factors that may make or mar the success of the Master-Plan.
