The theme this month is time management, and many busy professionals and entrepreneurs are very well intentioned as they go about making plans and writing down goals. I know many have decided to make changes in the way they do business. There was a lot of planning that went into the decision to start your business, and much planning has gone into how you will sustain your business. Now is the time for action. We have been under precautionary measures for 5 months now, it’s time to put those plans into action, let’s push play! Planning is a necessary part of growth for your businesses. And I certainly encourage you to take time to develop a suitable plan for how your business is sustained for the rest of 2020. But, if you have not pulled the trigger on your plan, what are you waiting for? What’s your motivation mantra?

5 TIME MANAGEMENT You can implement today
Time is one commodity that we always run out of. Everyday we have to reset. If you don’t get it all done, and the end of the day comes, you’re done, you’re just done. Time management is a skill very few have mastered. Many have dreams of mastering it, but rarely do the masses ever get a firm handle on effective time management.
There is a common misconception that the secret to time management is multitasking. This is not the most effective vehicle for time management. For that matter, if that's the vehicle you choose, you will be broken down on the side of the road before you know it.
Take care of the MINUTES and the HOURS will take care of themselves. _Lord Chesterfield
Being focused on the task at hand, and limiting distractions will allow you to accomplish multiple things in a shorter amount of time. Here are a few simple things you can do today that will allow you to be more focused and effectively manage the rest of the time you have TODAY:
Say NO to things that divert your attention from what’s important People are always going to ask you to help them with something, or ask you to volunteer for one awesome event after another. Learning to set parameters for decisions about helping with events, organizations, or additional tasks, will help you stay focused. Ask yourself, does this new request of my time propel me toward the attainment of my goals? If the answer is NO, then the answer is NO.
Set Deadlines for Tasks Setting deadlines can really help us manage our time. Consider when someone, like your boss, asks you to do a certain task. If they give you a deadline for completion, you know that you need to make allowances in your day to complete this task on time. You do this because of your own inclination to want the reward of knowing you met the deadline. ost people want to be rewarded, even if it's just telling yourself, “great job, you met the deadline!!”
We all want to minimise reprimand and increase reward. So why not set these deadlines for yourself? The best method for setting deadlines is to set them a little ahead of when you need to hand off the project or task. You have time to review and make edits and also to absorb unforeseen deterrents to meeting the deadline. Block out Distractions Many things can be sources of distractions for people. The sound of silence can be distracting. Having to work at home on the kitchen table with the entire family all there in the house can be a great source of distraction. Being accessible to the public at all times can be a distraction. Don’t check your phone, email or social media for a dedicated block of time. Let your family and colleagues know that you are unavailable for a certain period of time. Put a limit on your unavailable time, so you don’t become offensive and antisocial :) Having dedicated
time of hyper focus without distractions can help you more effectively manage time. A friend once told me she told her children, “don’t bother me unless you and your brother are on fire.” Of course emergencies can happen, but this was just a fun example I heard from a stay at home Mom, who just wanted a few minutes of uninterrupted time for herself. If you know that you tend to ‘go down the rabbit hole’ when you visit social media platforms, then set things in place that you don't engage on social platforms until a pre set time. Sometimes music in the background can help you stay focused on the tasks at hand. Whatever helps you get in, and stay in the zone, add that to your routine. Before you know it, you’ll be done with this task and are ready to move on to the next one! Take breaks Our bodies need a break from things every now and then. Our brains are no different. Ever heard
the phrase, ‘a fresh set of eyes to look at something?” This can be true of our brain’s ability to effectively process information. Get up and take a quick walk around the office, or down the hall at home. Or better yet, take a quick walk outside. Something I used to do was take a ‘smoke break’. Now I don’t smoke, but making a plan to take that 10 15 minute break to give my mind a chance to recalibrate, always helped me regain focus. Spending too long on one thing can cause some to become increasingly distracted. When this begins to happen, stop and take a break! Group similar task together If you have several articles to write, some graphics to design, and social media calendars to plan; set timeblocks in your schedule to manage each type of task. If you know that you do your best writing in the evenings after the office is quiet, plan to write all your articles at that time. Look at the days or weeks ahead of you and determine what articles will need to be completed
over that time period, and set aside time to crank out this content all during one time block. Set a dedicated time block each day to check email, and make sure everyone knows that you are only checking at certain times so that you can remain focused on the tasks at hand at any given time. This same principle can also apply to returning phone calls. By far this is not an exhaustive list of all the best time management tools, but these are some techniques that can be easily implemented that will yield immediate results.
Remember, time is a commodity that does not replenish. Once it’s gone, you can never get it back. Manage it wisely!

TIME MANAGEMENT FOR THE BUSINESS PROFESSIONAL

By Face to Face Marketing
Set S.M.A.R.T. Goals
It is difficult to accomplish anything without specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and time-bound SMART goals. You can start by breaking down your long-term goals into monthly goals, then break them down even further into weekly and daily goals.
Plan your Activities
Working backward from the date you want the goals accomplished is the best way to accomplish business goals. Set and review checkpoints for tasks that need to be completed in order for you to reach your goals.

2
Pick a System and Commit
SIf finding a suitable approach to time management is holding you back. The best solution can come from combining the ideas of a few different philosophies to create the perfect time management and productivity tool for you, whether that is your calendar on your phone, jotting down everything in a planner or utilizing a software system or app.

Know Your Priorities
Success comes in knowing where to focus your time. In order to avoid forgetting tasks, take time to clarify what your priorities are and schedule the time to do your most important tasks when you are most active.
Find Your Productivity Zone
Whether you peak in the morning or are a night owl, you can cut down on the time it takes you to complete your work by understanding when you work best, are most productive, and plan your most important work for that time.
6
5
Track your Time
If you do it or you don’t, write it down! If you're honest in documenting your time and activities, you'll be able to identify your strengths, weaknesses, and how much time you actually spend working on tasks.
Delegate
No one can do it all. When you have more than you can handle, it may be a good idea to delegate. If you have trouble delegating, a good way to start is to determine what tasks are not essential for you to do personally. Marketing & Design Magazine

DEMONSTRATING LEADERSHIP IN MARKETING DURING TIMES OF COVID-19
The year 2020 has become a volatile target with the current COVID-19 health crisis raking up the global economy by storm. It is rare to find a crisis of this magnitude that equally affects employees as well as customers. Not to forget the adjustment to our personal lives as we adapt to social distancing and its wideranging social and domestic impact. For most leaders, these are challenging times and unprecedented experience for their organization and its patrons. More importantly, it questions organizations' capability to strike the right balance between revenues and employee well-being. Leaders must demonstrate resilience while promoting transparency and authenticity to advocate trust, a dynamic play, with its own ebbs and flows. By involving the stakeholders, such as employers and customers in transparent decision-making, and providing substantial, authentic, and useful information, organizations achieve consistency in their beliefs and actions. This way, the organizations will hold themselves accountable for their actions and words and set the right examples for others to follow.

Winston Churchill once said, "A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on." Organizations need to reflect care and concern in everything they do, right from the choice of marketing, tone of messaging, or even the ad spends for their customers. Research has found that companies that significantly increased their ad spend during uncertain times, eg. The 2008-09 recession can boost their market share twice over those who only modestly increase their ad budgets. Agile marketing is an art of quickly understanding unfolding situations and responding to them appropriately and setting forth a precedent, as a brand. Even with the global markets in despair, this isn't the time to be pushing products or compromising with brand principles and values. Instead, organizations need to ensure that they demonstrate empathy in their actions, whether it is
In the disruptive times that we're in today, leaders need to steer the course of action with optimism, for it leads to hope, which keeps one going every single day. Even though it is difficult to see the positive when everything seems to be falling apart, every organization undergoes rough patches and pains. These times determine who is brave enough to weather the storms. Executives should accept this uncertainty and know that even though its elimination isn't possible, they can take measures to ensure smooth sailing, confidently. With such high stakes, it becomes essential for leaders to be humanitarians first and CEOs later. Now's the time to implement one's values and reinforce customer relationships one has worked hard to build over these years. Now is the time for marketing - the right way.

We live in a world full of images. Everywhere we go, we are presented with images that compete for our attention in order to sell to us .I remember driving down the parkway one night when suddenly the lighted movie posters from afar captivated my friend’s attention.
We pulled into the parking lot to gaze at the images encased in glass. I had never really noticed how powerful one image could be in the realm of selling a product until that night. As we stood there in the dark, she told me about how she based her movie ticket purchases off the posters alone. It was then that she said something that really got my attention. She said that she only sees the movies that have high-quality posters. This was a foreign concept to me because I always read multiple reviews before seeing a movie. However, it shined a light on the fact that many people are making purchasing decisions based on one image alone. Images are a form of communication. They set expectation and create a certain standard in our minds. They tell the customer what they can expect from a business. There is a direct link between the images used for marketing and the perceived value the customer will have. Photography can go a long way in the area of communicating your value.

However, it is like a two-edged sword. The images can either communicate a high-end or low-end brand based upon their quality. With a high-end brand, people expect to pay more but they also expect higher quality. A low-end brand would be the opposite.
would be able to see the impact of the film upon her, without her looking to me for clues concerning the movie.
Years ago, I saw this movie about a character that gets a second chance at life. It was so inspiring that I went and saw it again that same day.
About 15 minutes into the film she began muttering to herself. Then right in the middle of the most crucial scene in the movie, she whispered to me, “This is just a low-budget movie. It was probably filmed for $5 million.Considering how electric the beginning scenes were, I thought this was a strange declaration. If you know anything about movie making, you know that the average movie budget is anywhere from $70-$90 million. The big budget movies like Avengers: Endgame, cost right around $356 million to make.
Several days later, I wanted someone else to experience this powerful message, so I invited a friend to go see it with me. I did not tell her that I had already seen the movie. This way I
Why am I telling you this, you might ask? Well, the reason is because my friend criticized and complained through the whole movie. She could not get past the small budget feel of the

movie, long enough to experience the power of the story. This created a miserable experience for both of us. This can be the same with your brand. If people perceive your brand as low-quality, some people will simply not give you a chance. People often will judge a business by the branding and marketing images.
Images are a form of communication. They set expectation and create a certain standard in our minds.
I was talking to a guy one time about brand photography and how it influences his decisions. He told me that if a business does not have outstanding images and a consistent social media presence, that he will avoid them. I thought this was a harsh statement, but it was interesting to hear how some consumers think. Let’s look to a high-end brand like Rolex to see how they use imagery to promote their brand. I encourage you to go look at their website. Click on the World of Rolex section. https://www.rolex.com/world-of-rolex.html. This is a famous luxury brand that sells watches that cost thousands of dollars. The images on their website are remarkable. They have done something quite genius. Pictures of a watch can only be so exciting, so they have joined their brand with sports, arts and exploration. As a result, their brand is represented at sporting and art events that millions of people see every year. It adds an element of adventure to the brand and increases their visibility. At these events they hire commercial photographers to capture stunning images to promote their brand. The images of the yacht races, horse shows, and tennis matches on their website captivated me. In one image, a famous tennis player holds up his Grand Slam trophy while wearing a Rolex.

In another image you can see the Rolex sponsored yacht races in Sydney, Australia. Instead of just seeing images of watches on a white background for sale, you see images of boats racing through the Pacific Ocean. Also check out their Instagram to see how they have photographed their watches in an unconventional way.

If people perceive your brand as low-quality, some people will simply not give you a chance.
I encourage you to take some inspiration from this luxury brand. Although you may not have millions to spend on branding, I know you can still pull this off. Here are some ideas you can incorporate into your imagery: Create some captivating images Find a way to infuse adventure into your images Elevate your visibility by teaming with other businesses Photograph your products in an unconventional way As a business owner you already wear so many hats. However, you cannot allow imagery to be an area where quality is sacrificed. As you continue to work hard, be consistent and make stunning images an intentional part of your brand, your target audience will see you from afar. Let it never be that someone would be prevented from experiencing your brand’s story because they perceive your brand as low-quality. Don’t give them an opportunity to whisper to a friend, “This is just a low-budget business.”

Part 4 of the Follow-Up Series www.pendergrasspromos.com
By Kevin Pendergass Pendergrass Promos Today, we will conclude our series on the importance of following up with prospects and clients by talking about creativity in the follow-up. In my experience, creativity is sorely lacking in most companies' marketing and follow-up strategies. With the domination of social media/email, it is easy to become onedimensional and to get lost in the crowd. When you are following up with a prospect, you should assume that other competing companies are doing the same. Therefore, ask yourself what you are currently doing that is different and creative that your competitors aren’t doing (or that they aren’t doing well). Below are some questions that we use when determining what to come up with: 1. What will get the attention of our prospects? 2. What is something that is fun and will make them feel good? 3. What message(s) am I wanting to communicate? 4. What can demonstrate that we are the authority in what we do? 5. How does this build trust?

Creativity in social media is very limited. Don’t get me wrong; it can be very effective. But at the end of the day, there are only so many things you can do with a social media platform or in an email. So, how can we have creative follow-up in a world in which it is so easy to get lost in the shuffle? This is where promotional products come in. Some would say I am biased since I own a promotional product company, but I have the stats to back me on this. Promotional products are ranked as the #1 most effective form of advertising to prompt action across all generations. However, it isn’t enough to just buy promotional products. You need to make sure you’re buying the right kind for the right purposes and that you have the right plan to implement them. This is where so many people take a wrong turn.Instead of focusing
FaceToFace-Marketing.com
their attention on how they are utilizing promotional products, some are mostly concerned with how “cheap” they can get by with buying promotional products. This is where we come in. Not only will we help you find the right product, but, first and foremost, we will help you create the right plan for your specific objectives. The possibility of creativity with promotional products is limitless. With over 14 million products, they are also the most versatile form of marketing. Not only have we been able to help businesses acquire new clients through promotional products, but we have also been able to put in place employee retention programs for businesses and everything and anything in between.
it isn’t enough to just buy promotional products. You need to make sure you’re buying the right kind for the right purposes and that you have the right plan to implement them
So, if you’re tired of the same old, dusty marketing strategies that everyone else is using, then we need to talk. On the other hand, if your objective is to get by with spending as little as possible on the cheapest product, then I will be more than happy to point you in a different direction. It all comes down to how serious you want to take your marketing and how successful you want to be. We have become very successful in a short amount of time using the same strategies we are willing to teach our clients. Creativity in follow-up will make all the difference in the world.
This week, I want you to think about your follow-up and ask whether or not your follow-up can use some help in the creativity department. Ask yourself the questions I listed out above. What are ways you can begin implementing creative strategies? To all of our clients out there, we are more than happy to help.

THE POWER OF BUSINESS RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT: BUILDING AND INCREASING BUSINESS SUCCESS
By Dr. Steven D. Carter Photos by John Adams
It may surprise you that Business Relationship Management is a formal profession with a job title and a specific skill set. Managing business relationships is singularly important to your career and success in the business environment!
Diversity, Teamwork, and Business Relationships You need teamwork. Just as important, is that you need all team members to contribute effectively. That doesn’t mean dishing out blame to unproductive team members. As a team leader or member, what needs emphasis is for each member to

Building moral begins by improving business relationships. That is the power of internal business relationship management. From that, flow effective customer relationships when the entire team accepts responsibility. All of this begins with trust that we’ll get into shortly. The other requirement is embracing diversity in your relationships because your

Why Strong Business Relationships are Important Contrary to popular belief, the most important business activity is not finding new customers. Instead, it’s managing existing relationships — both internally and externally.
