Luxe Escape: Crystalbrook Kingsley

Get acquainted with Crystalbrook Kingsley – the first five-star hotel to open in Newcastle, serving sustainable luxury and prestige experiences. Crystalbrook Collection, one of Australia’s leading sustainable hospitality companies has brought its unique touch to Australia’s seventh largest city.

Newcastle’s newest fixture on the cityscape has now fully undergone its transformation from the iconic Roundhouse building that started life in the 1970s as the City Administration Centre. Kingsley features 130 contemporary rooms and suites, with urban, park and harbour views. Adorned in luxury, but with a focus on sustainability, this hotel offers something different to its visitors.

In an Australian first, Crystalbrook Kingsley will have 100 per cent waste-free bathrooms, where all bathroom amenities are biodegradable or recyclable. All rooms and suites also come equipped with technology sweeteners, including tablet control centres to order in-room dining or a room tidy-up.

The hotel’s environmental stance continues through to the crowning glory of the hotel, a rooftop restaurant and rooftop bar, named Roundhouse and Romberg’s, respectively. With panoramic views spanning across Civic Park, Newcastle CBD and out over Nobbys Lighthouse, glimpsing Stockton’s sand dunes and Port Stephens, both Roundhouse and Romberg’s promise stellar views for patrons to get a bird’s-eye view of the city.

Jaw-dropping outlooks are not the only feature in Crystalbrook Kingsley’s arsenal – these venues feature a strong presence of wines from Australia’s oldest wine region, the Hunter Valley. Plus 80 per cent of the produce served is grown within a three-hour radius of the hotel.

Crystalbrook Kingsley’s general manager Carl Taranto said weaving the city’s culture and history into the hotel’s personality was vital: “Championing Newcastle’s heritage and embracing the city’s shifting landscape is at the heart of the hotel. Locals and visitors alike will be able to see this threaded through the interior design, which is a contemporary take on our mining history, and in our partnerships, our restaurant and bar concepts, and in our food and beverage offering.”

He continued: “We want Novocastrians to feel welcome and thoroughly enjoy our iconic Roundhouse building. We feel privileged to be a part of the Newcastle community and look forward to getting to know the locals.”

So, what are you waiting for? Come and get acquainted with a luxury and sustainable experience like no other offered in Newcastle. Indulge in the best of what Newcastle has to offer at Crystalbrook Kingsley.
