Turn Up And Go Green

Want to get involved with the next big thing? Now’s your chance with volunteer opportunities at Qatar’s second largest international event soon to be launched.

The International Horticultural Expo 2023 Doha Qatar will take place over 179 days, from October 2 to March 28, 2024, over 1.7 million square metres at Al Bidda Park in the heart of the capital just steps from Corniche Steet. Held under the theme Green Desert, Better Environment, it aims to encourage sustainable innovation and reduce desertification. Divided into three zones – International, Family and Cultural – it will inspire visitors to take part in the change through four sub-themes: Modern Agriculture; Technology and Innovation; Environmental Awareness; and Sustainability.

There will be myriad activities, entertainment and edutainment for all visitors, including ministers and official delegations, as well as business visitors, horticulture aficionados, tourists, families and children.

As the first event of its kinds to be held in Qatar, the GCC and the wider region, Expo 2023 will play a significant role towards achieving Qatar’s sustainability goals and will put the country back into the international spotlight, similarly to the World Cup.

With more than three million local and international visitors expected to attend and up to 80 countries taking part, there will be a great opportunity to showcase the best of Qatar. And around 3,000 to 4,000 volunteers will be needed across all areas, from visitor engagement to backof-house, to ensure success.

Opportunities for volunteering – through part or all of the six months over which the Expo runs – are due to be announced shortly and details will be made available on the official Expo 2023 website and social media platforms. ✤
