Porsche expands its already impressive electric sports car model range with the 2021 Taycan 4S
Since Porsche’s inception in 1931, this globally admired, premium brand has continuously managed to set itself apart from almost all other car manufacturers. Whether it be their superior technology and performance capabilities or their steadfast dedication to always providing the most luxurious and stylish vehicle possible, they have assured continued admiration for their label with every new model produced. We at Hadag Magazine are huge fans of the brand and relish the chance to get behind the wheel of any Porsche we can get our hands on. This month, thanks to the great team at Porsche Centre Bahrain, we received the opportunity to test drive the new Porsche Taycan 4S. The 2021 Taycan 4S retains the unmistakable Porsche DNA through its exterior design which we found to be instantly impressive to the eye. Staring at the vehicle head on, it appears particularly wide and flat with highly contoured wings. From the viewpoint of the flanks, the sporty roofline slopes downward to the back end, whilst significantly sculptured side sections add to the car’s striking appearance. The shoulders of the wings are distinctive and along with the drawn-in rear C-pillar, they work together to create a sharply emphasised rear. Features of the Taycan 4S that set it apart from other models in the range include aerodynamically optimised 19-inch Taycan S Aero wheels, red brake callipers, the front apron with new geometry as well as side sills and rear diffuser in black. Equipped as standard are the LED headlights with Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus. The glass-effect Porsche logo integrated into the light bar at the rear finishes off the exterior design with a flourish. Slipping inside the cockpit of the 4S, we immediately felt like we’d entered a premium environment. The partial-leather interior of the new Taycan is exquisite, with all trimmings, materials and finishes being of the highest quality. Porsche is also offering a leather-free interior for the very first time, replacing it with innovative recycled materials that add to the sustainable concept of the electric sports car. A free-standing, curved instrument cluster is present on the dashboard, placing a clear focus on the driver axis. The infotainment display measures 10.9-inches and along with an optional passenger display, combine to form an integrated glass band in a black-panel look. With ample space on offer in the front and a comfortable seating arrangement for two adults in the back, this four-door vehicle is not only beautiful but functional as well. Performance wise, just because the Taycan is an electric sports car, does not mean that it delivers less power than one has come to expect from a Porsche. On the contrary, the Taycan 4S comes equipped with the Performance battery as standard that produces 530hp (390kW). However, a second option is available in the form of the Performance battery Plus that delivers 571hp (420kW). Both options allow the 4S to surge from zero-100km/h in four seconds flat and provide a regulated top speed of 250km/h. Perhaps the best feature of this vehicle is that despite all of this power being produced, it releases a combined CO2 emission of 0 g/km. Great news for the environment. Along with the breathtaking acceleration and abundance of raw power, the Taycan 4S comes equipped with two synchronous machines on the front and back axles making this model an all-wheel drive. Porsche have included a centrally networked control system for the car’s chassis that analyses and synchronises all chassis systems in real time. Complete with adaptive air suspension featuring threechamber technology, this beast of a machine provides one smooth ride. With a fantastic braking system and exceptional cornering abilities, we found the Taycan 4S an extremely enjoyable car to drive and we received plenty of attention from all those around us as we made our way along the roads. It is also comforting to note that Porsche have included an array of safety features to ensure you and your loved ones are protected throughout the driving experience. rawing inspiration from its illustrious history and capitalising on a wealth of technological know-how, Panerai reaffirms its inseparable connection to the sea by introducing an instrument inspired by its Ambassador and constant weight freediving champion: Luminor Marina 44mm Guillaume Néry Edition. www.panerai.com

Recognising the critical importance of legible diving instruments, Panerai celebrates the 70th anniversary of the birth of Luminor, a patented tritium-based substance with luminescent properties, with an evocative limited-edition model available in 70 pieces, and with a 70-year warranty.
Available exclusively in Panerai boutiques around the world, the new Luminor Marina 44mm Guillaume Néry Edition is a radical distillation of innovative aesthetic elements, like the rubberised coating applied to the bezel, crown and bridge lever; the accentuated convex glass and the dial with an evocative dégradé effect that emulates the shades produced as sunlight filters through the depths of the sea. An expression of contemporary horology, the new model reflects the sophisticated approach to working with advanced materials cultivated by the Panerai Laboratorio di Idee, including DMLS (Direct Metal Laser Sintering) technology, which shapes titanium using a 3D printing process.
Calibre P.9010, a self-winding movement measuring only 6 mm thick and designed and developed entirely within the Panerai Manufacture in Neuchâtel, completes the new Luminor Marina 44mm Guillaume Néry Edition. The movement is equipped with double barrels for a three-day power reserve and a quick time adjustment function that can move forward or backward in increments of one hour and is connected automatically to the date indicator.
Water-resistant up to 30 bar (about 300 meters deep), the Luminor Marina 44mm Guillaume Néry Edition is equipped with a strap made from black recycled PET material with white stitching and a trapezoidal pin buckle. A white rubber technical strap, the very first to feature luminescent “Officine Panerai” personalisation is included with each watch, along with a screwdriver to remove the buckle and a recycled plastic box engraved with the signature of Panerai ambassador Guillaume Néry. The caseback includes an engraving depicting the silhouette of the freediver and Ambassador Guillaume Néry.
