What sort of services do you offer (day-of coordination, fullservice event design or a la carte planning)?

The Ritz-Carlton Doha offers all the arrangements from A to Z from the arrival at the airport, to the design of the interior and the culinary experience during the event from the food tasting to the actual food served during the event. All the ladies and gentlemen at The Ritz-Carlton, Doha ensure that each of the weddings planned at the hotel is flawless. We have been working on the preparations of the Indian wedding for the past 12 months and it has been really important to plan and orchestrate the wedding in every intricate detail. Do you create the overall vision, or are you more of a producer who brings in an event designer?

It really depends what the client is looking for. Many of the clients like to bring in a designer. Many events on the other hand are handled by our wedding planner team. How have you handled the event styling?

We have been working hand-in-hand with luxury wedding planner Divinity Weddings and famed décor designer Heena Patel of Amaahyaaj in Vadodara.

What is your main speciality for both design and coordination?

We don’t have a speciality as such. Our event wedding planner knows the trends and makes sure our clients receive the legendary Ritz-Carlton experience renowned for the impeccable service to deliver such unique memories. How many weddings have you planned?

Close to 200 a year with 5 to 10 Royal Weddings being held on our island next to the hotel.

Do you have a one wedding per day policy?

Not really. It depends on the availability of the space. We want to make sure we cater the best services to provide our clientele with the most remarkable wedding. Will you be handling the invitations, from wording and ordering to the addressing and mailing? What about guest list coordination and RSVPs?

How is this wedding different compared to previous weddings you have held?

We made first contact with the wedding party 12 months ago and we started serious planning 10 months back. It has been a great experience to organise this wedding in every bit of detail. All the ladies and gentlemen in The Ritz-Carlton, Doha have been involved, from the specific requirements in the rooms and suites, to the planning of the events in full alongside the airline and transfers arrangement. Not forgetting the organisation of the food preparation, of course!

How do you ensure that traditions are maintained throughout the three day event?

During the wedding arrangement, it has been really important to bring individuals who know the Indian traditions. From our Sales Leader, to our Executive Chef and Guest Relations Manager, many ladies and gentlemen from India have also been involved to make sure all the traditions are maintained and respected throughout the wedding. We also had the pleasure to go to India to attend one of the family’s weddings to experience a traditional Indian wedding ourselves first-hand which has allowed for a greater sense of authenticity and expectation.
