The genius of Gabrielle Chanel was her ability to enhance even the simplest of objects merely with detailing, which is why the golden chains interlaced with black leather on CHANEL bags are now deeply embedded into the brand’s DNA. The CHANEL Global Creative Makeup and Colour Designer looked to this paradox between bold and precious to inspire the Les Chaînes d’Or de CHANEL holiday collection, transforming a signature of Mademoiselle Chanel into a modern talisman that embodies the splendour of the festive season. What results is a glow-boosting palette of rich, deep shades steeped in the varying hues of gold. It’s designed for the woman ready to embrace her daring side come festive season, the world at her fingertips, where a hint of the antique gold Chaîne d’Or polish peeks through. The chain motif is embossed on all of the powders throughout, including the rosy Illuminating Blush Powder and all four shades of the OMBRE PREMIÈRE Powder eyeshadows that range from platinum to coppery pink and intense khaki brown. But nothing tops the allure of the – you guessed it – Rouge Allure. Four new shades were created exclusively for this collection, each enriched with luminous golden sparkles – a nod to Gabrielle Chanel’s relentless love for the colour gold, of course.
