SHIMMERING SUCCESS AT DJWE 2018

Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition unfolds at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center this month, where more than four hundred international luxury brands will display their finest work, special editions and unique pieces, alongside talented local jewellery designers. We spotlight one Qatari designer and an iconic jeweller from New York, who will both be showcasing their collections, amongst many others.

ABOUT NOORA AL-ANSARI

Noora Al Ansari, a proud Qatari, holds a Master degree in English and Literature and has an MBA in Business.

When visiting a jewellery fair Noora felt compelled by the jewellery world and desired to possess all kinds of jewels herself. Somehow, she felt moved by the purity of precious stones and became inspired by their delicacy. A feeling of freedom and joy runs through her heart when she is surrounded by jewels. She gained a new sense of appreciation towards jewellery; her vision changed completely from this moment onwards. Her desire to see the jewels, to be able to touch them and to understand the composition of each precious stone; is the reason why she decided to launch her own jewellery business in Doha. She has created a unique which is innovative following the current trends in the market. Her favourite stone is diamond but the collections that Papillon offers are produced with many kinds of gold, rubies, sapphires, emeralds, pearls and a variety of semi-precious stones. Some modern and fresh designs use leather and enamel in their composition too. The last project of Noora Al-Ansari consists of very innovative yet interchangeable pieces. Functional to use differently in every situation or at any moment of the day!

Inspiration

“Papillon” means butterfly in French and it is the symbol of the boutique logo. The spirit of Noora is expressed in every detail of the store: The green colour represents a peaceful garden that invites to relax under the sunlight, symbolised by the beige and gold colours. In her inspiration, the owner invites clients to walk in her jewellery and to experience the feeling of her beautiful collection. Each jewellery piece becomes a flower and the clients represent the butterflies flying freely from one flower to another. The interior is surrounded with mirrors to reflect the client’s beauty; simulating the butterflies flying above the water. When a lady purchases a piece of jewellery at Papillon, she finds a piece of her own secret self... or garden.

Collections

The Papillon Jewelry has suppliers that work only with high quality diamonds, precious and semi-precious stones. There are many collections designed by Noora Al Ansari like the Papillon collection, or the signature one, that is inspired by the big rings. She works with leading Italian designers in order to create specific pieces signed with the Papillon signature and adapted to both international and Qatari taste.

Papillon Collection

Representing the identity and the concept of the brand name whist reflecting the luxurious at the same time. By combining fine diamonds and pearls with precious stones in varied colours, the goldsmith represents different shapes and sizes of beautiful butterflies in white gold.

Signature collection

Using the brilliant and baguette cut diamonds following a circular round pattern in every product of the set. Available in yellow and rose gold, it is an elegant, sophisticated series of pendant, earring, bracelet and ring.

Royal collection

Born in the heart of India, it is inspired in the Maharaja and the classic designs that were first created for the royal families in Europe. Pearls, precious rubies, sapphires and emerald stones are set in a significant position as the main part of the design surrounded by sparkling high quality diamonds of different cuts arranged in a classic sophisticated way.

Firenze Italia Collection

Inspired by the beautiful city of Florence, considered the center of the medieval European trade and finance; and birthplace of the Renaissance. It is known that Italy contributed significantly to today’s jewellery fashion, therefore, paying tribute to the Middle Ages inspires its pieces in the artists and the culture of the capital of Tuscany.

Omani Jewelry Collection

Following the “savoir-faire” of Papillon Jewelry, this is created by specialised craftsmen who are real Omani artisan goldsmiths.
