Basic Hair Care Trick

While the world is in lock-down, many face the problem of having to deal with frizzy, grey and even damaged hair alone! Here senior stylists Emma and Sladjana from Jean Louis David Qatar share their easy-to-follow hair homecare tips.

• Use the correct products for your hair type. There is a shampoo that will suit your hair type whether it is weak, damaged, coloured or thin.

• If you want longer hair make sure that your ends are healthy. Use strengthening shampoos, conditioners and hair masques, such as Kérastase Extensioniste which helps strengthen your hair from roots to tips preventing it from breakage and split ends.

• Wash your hair at least three times a week with warm water. Hot water will weaken your hair and if you have colour treated tresses, the colour will fade faster.

• Deep condition your hair at least once a week. This will help revive your hair replacing all the oils that have been stripped out. Use a shower cap and leave the masque on for at least 20-30 minutes for the best results.

• Avoid frizzy hair by trying to braid your hair loosely and apply a night serum to avoid frizziness in the morning. The braids help the serum to penetrate your hair and stop it from rubbing off onto your pillowcase.

• Protect your hair and use heat protecting leave-in conditioners when styling. This prevents the heat from damaging your hair, plus it adds some shine and leaves a hint of fragrance on your hair.
