Jersey’s covid care might have wound down but it seems we will be perpetually discussing the pandemics influence on our lifestyles, and 2023 is no different. This season’s home trends are a direct result of all those things we wished we had when we were locked down in our living rooms. Joyful colour abounds headrests and sofa sets, and comforting fabrics like boucle and sink-in shearling would have made the stay-at-home message much easier to endure. From seventies inspired shapes harking back to a simpler time to interiors influenced by what’s on our screens (read on for more) these are the five trends influencing our interiors this season…

Dopamine Decor

In other words, decorating your home to make you feel happier. For the brave this might mean a whole room painted in the brightest of hues, or even investing in a beautifully bright sofa set. For those only wanting to dip their toe in the colour pool, try injecting some brights through accessories like a lamp, or a rug.

Modern Mediterranean

If you haven’t watched the much talked about TV series The White Lotus you’d be forgiven for not understanding the noise around the locations. Season 2 in particular provides much to discuss when it comes to interiors. Set in the Sicilien hills, the programme's characters are often overshadowed by the wow decor of their incredible setting which has all the glamour of old school mediterranean interiors but has been given a twist of the contemporary. Earth Tones

Terracotta, once a material reserved for plant pots, has become the colour of the season. Best teamed with other earthy tones like sand, pale stone, deep olive, and light clay it’s a colour palette that’ll look lovely come summer. A great way to introduce the trend is across your tableware- look out for linen napkins and tablecloths in toffee brown or even a lighter caramel. When styled with white serveware and a vase of fresh rosemary and eucalyptus you’ll be bang on trend.
