Surabaya, as one of Indonesia's largest metropolitan cities, has experienced rapid growth marked by the proliferation of high-rise apartment buildin as a solution to limited land availability However, as in many major citi apartments are often perceived merely as investment commoditi overlooking their potential role in fostering close-knit communities. T individualistic nature of such housing concepts tends to neglect soc aspects, resulting in minimal interaction among residents. Through collective linkage approach, apartment designs in Surabaya have t potential to create spaces that encourage social interaction a collaboration, transforming apartments into not just living spaces but a hubs that strengthen urban community bonds.

Cihampelas Fashion Walk

Bringing space to life, reclaiming identity

As a Conceptor, Drafter

Bandung, often referred to as the "Parijs van Java" due to its classical European-inspired architecture and fashion, is now facing challenges posed by the rise of fast fashion Teras Cihampelas, originally intended to cater to youth and support small and medium enterprises (SMEs), has not been utilized effectively. To address this issue, we propose the "Cihampelas Fashion Walk" as a revitalization initiative for Teras Cihampelas This project aims to empower the younger generation and SMEs while preserving the city’s distinctive identity as the "Parijs van Java."

As a Conceptor, Drafter

Archiray-X 2023 Competition

Buildings are major carbon emitters, with Indonesia’s residential sector contributing 36%. Eco Nirvana addresses this through Net Zero Emission principles, integrating solar energy, natural ventilation, and kinetic façades to reduce energy use Designed for local climates, it minimizes reliance on coal-based energy while ensuring sustainable living and environmental harmony

Jl Kendung IV, Kecamatan Benowo, Kota Surabaya

Kinetic facades play a role in the transmission of heat outside and inside the building by 20% -30% (Dabous, 2022). Kinetic facades will respond to outdoor and indoor conditions if they do not comply with the thermal comfort standards.

The main problem with building a net-zero house is that it generally requires a higher initial cost than a conventional house. By building a growing house in stages, the initial cost can be reduced.

Mrangkai Saka

Modular design rooted in local wisdom

As a Conceptor, Drafter

Warmadewa Architecture Week 2024

Bali faces a sanitation crisis with a shortage of public toilets and poor infrastructure, worsened by the growing tourism industry. Many facilities are unclean, posing health risks and damaging the environment. Conventional toilet designs delay solutions, threatening Bali's tourism sustainability and reputation. Immediate action is needed to address these challenges and ensure proper sanitation

Jl. Ketandan Wetan, Ngupasan, Kec. Gondomanan, Kota Yogyakarta

Mrangkai Saka offers a modular design solution that leverages local materials and craftsmanship, with a strong focus on three key aspects: comfort, accessibility, and sustainability. This approach enables us to create designs that are not only adaptive but also highly flexible.

The design adopts the traditional Balinese architectural concept, which divides the structure into three parts: the roof (head), walls (body), and foundation (feet). The walls are designed with gaps for air circulation, adhering to the traditional Balinese style that enhances the coolness and comfort of the interior spaces

Re-Festival

Fostering collaboration, from community to community

By integrating placemaking principles and collaboration with businesses, it creates a sustainable ecosystem, harmonizing community needs, economic support, and public space revitalization for collective growth.
