Cheque Me Out Sixty Euros a day?.. What‘s that all about then?!!! That's all I‘m allowed to take out of my bank in a day. Apparently it comes under the heading of Greek capitol control. That‘s not enough to keep me in vino for a day! I bought a lettuce last week and had to do a bank transfer, supply a timologio, the deeds to my house and three of my illegitimate children as hostages. There goes my yellow Ferrari then…. I can buy a wheel nut every week. So, no more cash, only plastic. Have you ever stood at
the check out, buttocks clenched with a family pack of toilet rolls in your sweaty palm, behind a woman (oh, err sexist or what?), who is paying for her six trollies of microwave moussaka and can‘t remember her PIN number?.... And anyhow, the one and only checkout girl is having a fag out the back. And why do they build six checkouts and then employ only one girl, who if she slipped her leash would rip your throat out? Then eventually you rush to the car park to find some XXXX has blocked you in but it‘s OK ‗cos they‘ve left their hazards on. Whinge, whinge, moan, moan change the subject Rob. So no more EU then. We‘ve Brexited back to driving on the left. Pounds, Shillings and pence and those silly square plugs that only fit under the telly and at Edna‘s B&B in Bognor. To be fair other than being ordered by ze Germans to smoke in the rain, not hang, draw and quarter a chicken, whilst having sex and driving in the fast lane, I hadn‘t noticed we were in. What have the Romans ever done for us? Eh, eh, eeh! (Monty Python‘s Life of Brian....Dummy!)

bonking the engineer!‖
―Oi Scum! Come ‗ere‖ says the Yacht master, with the Isle of Wight t-shirt on. ―Says on the inventory, I should have 2 anchors and I can only see one. Where‘s the other one then?! Eh.?! Eh?!! Eeeh?!!!‖
What‘s the entertainment this year? I hear you all ask, ‗cos you won‘t beat last year‘s line up? ...And if anybody needs beating they do. … Well it‘s a bit early yet. Have you ever had to deal with mewzos? (musicians) I used the term loosely. They are a touch sensitive. It‘s like telling Adolf it‘s a really bad idea to invade Russia. Why not get all your guys together and have a knees up instead? Then when we are all pissed, we‘ll kiss and make up. Then decide who is gonna go on first. Get my drift? It‘s only rock and roll but I like it!
―It‘s in the water Sir, holding the boat off the quay. Can I get you another gin and tonic? With or without phlegm?‖ ―Aah, you want to go to Fiskardo today? That‘ll be straight into Vlicho Bay and keep going. Have a nice day Sir and don‘t shout at the wife just because she‘s

Fighting for animal rights and better life conditions A nature paradise, beautiful beaches, a clear blue sea, friendly people, good food that‘s what you find here. Lefkada is a beautiful Island on which you can enjoy the sunny side of Life! Except if you are an animal. In this case your life can easily be hell on earth. Dumped, chained, hungry, injured, helpless, that is how uncounted animals have to suffer. To make a change on this the Charity ANIMAL CARE LEFKAS was founded by Greek and international inhabitants of the island in June 2015. Rescuing stray animals from the streets is important, but will not prevent further cruelty.
The problem has to be solved by changing the whole situation of animals inside the country. In only one year of hard work this small, young charity has achieved the following results: This is what ANIMAL CARE is working on: -Neutering campaigns. -An information campaign for the inhabitants about the Greek laws, considering animal rights. -A more effective enforcement of the law by the police. -Installing an education program inside the schools of the island. -‌and of course going on, to rescue as much suffering animals as possible.

Help for Stray dog Kitzos, suffering from cancer in its mouth. Dumped Kitten, rescued and rehomed.
Abandoned hungry Mum Madonna found in Winter in the rain, with 6 puppies. Neutered and all rehomed. Two wild badgers fell into a deep empty pool. They where found dehydrated after days, rescued, treated with advice of the WILD LIFE CENTER and set free into nature after recovering.
South Ionian Rally
Fun In The Sun 2016
Well having just got back from 6,500 miles sailing across the Pacific it's back to planet Levkas and organising the rally and regatta. I was in a Taverna the other night and was accosted by a young man (always a pleasure). ―Tree?‖ he asked, ―Yes‖ I replied because it was me. ― Are you running the rally and regatta again this year?‖ he said. ― Yes, how did you know it was me?‖ because I didn't recognise him from Adam. ― I recognised you from when you were in the Kermit suit trying to tap dance last year‖. I was a tad taken aback as I've always thought I resembled Miss Piggy more than Kermit but marvelous fame at last!
results etc. and there will be local skippers helping with handicaps and courses. We'll have plenty of evening parties in our favourite Tavernas with Steamboat Rooster coming to play on the second night out so make sure you bring your dancing shoes. Plus I will have a wonderful opportunity to bore you with my stories of giant tortoises, smelly iguanas, seals trying to sleep in the cockpit and steal your toast at breakfast and many more! Cheers for now and see you on the water - Tree
So I hope you are going to join us for 4 days of fun racing between the islands and around the cans because I have a fabulous new team this year coming from all over the world. Pat Simpson a past winner of the regatta several times and his friend Gilly Foulds are coming as senior race officers from the UK. Mat and Karen Biggs Tree as Friar Tuck in Kevin are coming from New Zealand to Costner’s Robin Hood be our technical officers for race 6

LAWS LEFKAS ANIMAL WELFARE SOCIETY "LAWS LEFKAS ANIMAL WELFARE SOCIETY- established since 2000. We take care of the entire diverse animal population of our island. This includes animals and birds that live in the wild or the sea – turtles, dolphins etc. and most of all, countless stray cats and dogs. In 2013 Lefkas Municipality with the help of LAWS were granted a licence to set up a Municipality Vet clinic, which has enabled a program of vaccinating, neutering and microchipping stray animals and a register compiled for adoptions. Since this register was formed over 60 puppies and 30 adult dogs have been adopted. Since the licenciation of the vet office, over 600 cats and 200 dogs have been neutered, microchipped and vaccinated. More than 70% of the vet office expenses are under LAWS and the whole program is scheduled, supervised and supported by LAWS‘ volunteers. In addition, with the assistance of
the Lefkas Vets, many animals have recovered from road traffic accidents and viruses. Your donation helps us continue with the program. WE THANK YOU for your kind donations."

We would like to thank our sponsers, without whom this event could not take place. Please support them too!
Burgers and Hotdogs There will be the usual tasty hotdog and burger stall this year, happily very near the Committee boats! Once again the brave boys and girls from Animal Care Lefkas will be taking on the challenge. Roger will be frying his onions and very tasty they were too last year! All proceeds from this stall will go directly to the charity. Eat for charity!
Little Lyn and her sister Carol courageously manned the punch stand last year and did a wonderful job selling out by 11pm. This isn‘t suprising as the punch is delicious! It‘s a secret regatta recipe handed down over the generations Competitors who return their race nos. to the Committee Boats get a free glass of punch. The rest of us pay one euro a go. Great value for this delicious tipple and all in a good cause don‘t cha know?! Little Lyn will decide to which of our three favourite charities her proceeds will go.

It will be difficult to better last year‘s line up , we are sure many of you will agree….,but we are certainly going to try! At the time of going to press our line up has not been confirmed. But what we can say is that our people are talking to their people and negotiations are underway. We know it will be a star studded night, with Mad Robbie on the mike as MC holding them all together. We can‘t wait!!

The South Ionian Regatta The Seasons almost over, in the South Ionian sun It‘s the 3rd week in September, and the sailors still want fun Mad Robbie found the answer, after thinking out the matter Well race around Arkoudi, and we‘ll call it the regatta
The decision was made to shorten course, so they don‘t finish in the dark The windward boats got lucky, with the leaders way down line Toto was the first pet home, and won a plaque... and a bottle of wine
The after race committee met, to see who came out best They devised a rule between them, for A committee boat was needed, to host dealing with all protests the starting mob My handicaps not right said one, I‘m If Patsy Jean was dusted down, she‘d sure you must agree be perfect for the job So his arms and legs were gathered, Sue and her gang all climbed aboard, and they threw him in the sea and scrubbed as they drank wine Mad Robbie screamed, I‘ll kill you all, The stage was set, the bands turned if you scratch that Guinness sign up, an evil looking bunch The crowds stood all before them, So to the start line at 12 o clock, two eating burgers and drinking punch hundred yachts did gather The speeches and the prizes part, None of them knew the starboard again was very slow rule, Which put Ruari in a lather A sigh of relief went all around, as we The flags went up, the horns did blow, got on with the show as someone shouted bugger As a racing yacht, worth a million At midnight on the jetty a thousand quid, got T-boned by a lugger drunks did dance Some were keen on fighting, and The wind it came and then it went, as some sought out romance the fleet approached the mark The music blasted all night long, with rock songs from the past And on Patsy Jean a bikini was found, halfway up the mizzen mast The morning after came too quick, as we walked home in the light Five hundred masts in Sivota bay, is a really awesome sight My headaches just beginning, with a really throbbing pain I fall asleep with a little smile, cos next year we‘ll do it again. 26
