WAVES ROLL IN TO FAIRFIELD CITY Residents can now hit the waves at Fairfield City’s much anticipated $14.3 million wave pool at the iconic Aquatopia Water Park at Prairiewood Leisure Centre. The facility was officially opened on Saturday 20 November 2021, with a surprise visit from Bondi Rescue Lifeguard’s ‘Hoppo’ to join in on the fun! The splashtacular 55 metre wave pool has brought an exciting taste of the beach to our doorstep with breaking surf waves and a beach party carnival atmosphere. The new facility has cabanas, palm trees and umbrellas around the wave pool, with a new covered area able to host community and family outdoor events, such as moonlight cinemas. Families will no longer have to travel long distances in the heat of summer to the coast to search for waves. There’s always a perfect wave rolling in at Aquatopia! Everyone can learn to ride the waves using surf boards or boogie boards in a fun and safe beach environment, without the need to avoid rips or blue bottles! The wave pool is funded by Fairfield City Council and the Federal and State governments through the Western Sydney City Deal Liveability Fund. For more information or to book an Aquatopia outing visit www.fairfieldcity.nsw.gov.au/Aquatopia
