My commitment to the City has always been to make Fairfield a place to live, work, play and raise a family. Council continues to invest in high quality services and facilities for the community. We have had a successful year full of many highlights including the opening of the 55-metre Wave Pool at our affordable family water park Aquatopia, Fairfield City General enquiries in person also available at our Open Libraries • • • •

HQ community and business hub, Emerson futsal courts, Fairfield Showground Pavilion and 15,300 street lights were changed to more energy efficient LED bulbs. Council will continue to invest in upgrading infrastructure, parking, play equipment, parks, sporting facilities, town centres, community buildings, roads, footpaths and kerbs and much more. Fairfield City has one of the lowest Council rates in metropolitan Sydney. See ‘your rates at work’ section to find how your Phone NRS TIS Mail Email Website
rates compare with neighbouring councils, and how rates contribute to making this a great City. This is important for our community’s future to support the health and wellbeing of all residents. This guide outlines all the services and upcoming infrastructure and projects we are developing for you here in Fairfield City.

Council continues to invest in delivering new and improved infrastructure around the City to improve life for the community. The recently completed $11 million Fairfield Showground Pavilion brings us one step closer to transforming the Showground into a Multicultural and Sporting Centre of Excellence. Council has also applied for funding through the NSW Government’s WestInvest Program to finance the indoor Multicultural and Sports Centre proposed for Fairfield Showground. Concept plans for the $30 million project could include four multipurpose sports courts and stage/performance area, 800-seat grandstand and corporate box seating for 50, meeting

rooms, change rooms, umpires’ room, and kitchen and kiosk, with construction scheduled for mid-March 2023. Plans are also underway to upgrade Bareena Park, Canley Vale and Fairfield Heights Park playgrounds thanks to a $4 million grant from the Public Spaces Legacy Program. Bareena Park will receive a one-of-a-kind large koi fish slide and climbing rope feature to go with the ‘water theme’ playground. Fairfield Heights Park’s ‘nature theme’ playground will include a large treehouse piece with slide, in addition to accessible play equipment, flying fox, water play area, learn to ride track and more.
