ON THE COVER The Snowflake Ornament from Grain of Rice Project is created with hand rolled paper beads that have a splash of glitter added to them. These ornaments make great gifts while helping support artisans, Loice, Pamela, Selina, Jesika, Leah, and Teresia, from Kenya’s Kibera Slum. Grain of Rice Project sells jewelry, accessories, and home decor made in Kenya providing income for artisans and their families.

We work with a cooperative of 20 women in CajolĂĄ, Guatemala, weavers and seamstresses earning fair trade wages while learning the skills to run a business. Their work for Mayamam Weavers lifts their families from poverty, provides access to education for them and their children, and allows their families to stay together instead of migrating to the U.S. mayamamweavers.com
