1996, a wildly ambitious point guard out of the University of Wisconsin and his best friend set out on a journey to help their community achieve the dream of homeownership. CEO, Steve Jacobson and his colleague and childhood best friend, Randy Cross founded Fairway Independent Mortgage Company in their hometown of Madison, Wisconsin.

There’s no shortage of kind hearts here at Fairway. We believe in supporting anybody in our community that is in need. They are our family. Fairway Cares is a charitable arm of Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation. Through employee referrals, Fairway Cares offers comfort and encouragement to those facing a critical illness, physical trauma, or grieving of a loved one. Along with underwriting the operating costs, so 100% of donated funds go directly to those in need — Fairway Cares sends care packages and financial assistance to our Fairway families in need.
A large part of our Fairway culture is celebrating JOY through acts of caring, kindness, and happiness within our communities across our #FairwayNation. Introduced in May 2016, #FairwayJOY and #FairwayJOY Week are initiatives created to celebrate and cultivate Fairway’s joyfulness.
