“I have a strong interest in continuing to explore the study and design of aerial movement and the concept of open space. I am also interested in the relationship of architecture with inhabited environments. I believe that architecture is a blank space in which one can create an environment that changes people’s lives.

STRUCTURE, SYSTEMS, SPACE AND FORM

2016

Mahdi Alibakhshian The concept is driven by the site being located between two freeways as two opposing forces are colliding to rise vertically while intertwining each other. The intertwined vertical fl ow does not only circulate the merchandise, but it accommodates the problem necessary for a wellfunctioning vertical warehouse. An important component is the drone delivery process, which is part of the system and it is located on certain zone of the building. The delivery drones dispersed as if the air spread out of the center core

DEGREE PROJECT

2018

Berenika Boberska Frolic Gardens Floating Gardens and the tradition farm A series of floating gardens aim to bridge – and let us experience the third layer: the gap between the sky and earth. Experienced as a floating landscape, we perceive the journey along a land pier high above a watery farmland as if airborne. Scalloped structures tether observations balloons awaiting adventurers to survey the farmscape below.

Here we are able to travel from one location to another, suggesting other ways of perceiving space, time and motion. A Floating Landscape began as an imaginary scenario now, a mirage that has becomes real as we float in the air.

50’s SKY RIDE

Long Beach is one of seven variations of the California coast. Each variation has a distinct aspect where studies were conducted focusing on how water merges with land. With every study, through the looking glass, came the unveiling of man’s interventions and its PARK ISLAND

affects they had on the costal sites. The future California of is transforming to two different categories. Meaning Ocean areas should have two levels that let people more close to the sky than to be in the ground area.

ROLLER COASTERS

“Don’t Mind the California Dream “It’s all a deceptive facade.” California is famed for its year round perfect weather. It’s known for attracting people from all over; making it a dense and populated state. Individuals fl ock not only for that, but also for the imprinted image of “pristine” because, towering palm trees and active life styles. Little do they know of what truly hides under the veil. The overall vision of the sites consists on showing the hidden elements in each site, through an imaginary glass.

HOUSE AND HOUSING

2015

Theresa Hwang RENDERS

The design concept was achieved by utilizing three simple Tectonic buildings and creating complexity through circulation system surrounds the buildings. The main idea is to design a space that promotes healthy lifestyle through an increase amount of movement through a residential area. The space is divided into three main areas, commercial, semi commercial and residential.

SITE ORDERS

2015

Mark Ericson

Natural and urban site orders are explored and analyzed using writing, photography, mapping and sectional studies to develop site planning and building design with a special emphasis given to the relationship between program and external context. Projects focus on influences of adjacencies and environment, through the development of clear systems of movement, space and structure.

Sound waves parametric wall is a visually intriguing piece of wall art. Inspired by heart pulses and soul susceptibility. The pieces are curved through hatching the material until it has enough give and adds depth to the design in order to support itself. The undulating forms that stack on itself also provide spaces.

MATERIALS AND METHODS

2014

Edward Ogosta

Each major material - wood, masonry, steel, concrete and glass - is placed within a fundamental context of physical properties, historical evolution, structural behavior, sustainable design, contemporary methods of construction and detailing, building system.

34

Final object used two primary sources wood and steel material; by using folding, bending and welding. The object concept derived by using Disney Hall technique that interact with the building envelope systems, and new and future products.
