missions sending god’s love to the nations equatorial guinea, africa 2011 A group of nine men and three women went to Equatorial Guinea during part of November and December this past year. The team worked with veteran missionaries Carrol and Gayle Deal, where the men built new restroom facilities and installed a sewage system for their 30-acre Bible Campus. The property was literally a jungle when it was purchased ten years earlier. This campus will equip ministers to change their country. The team of three ladies; one doctor and two nurses, treated several hundred individuals

medically and ministered the love of Christ to them spiritually. The practical love that was shown and sown will make a difference for years to come.

matamoros, mexico 2012 A team of 46 men, women and teens went to Matamoros, Mexico, February 11-18, where they worked on a construction project at Magdiel Bible College. A new 100 x 40 foot dormitory facility is being constructed at the school and our team worked on the second floor of the structure, laying concrete blocks and erecting the steel roof. For decades, Magdiel Bible College has seen numerous men and women become equipped for ministry.

what if we believed would the songs we happen sing on SUnday I heard Jeremy Riddle ask this question, “Do we really believe the songs we sing?” I think sometimes we go through life thinking if I can just make it through this day or if only I could meet the right person. We believe that if we can just keep pushing on our own, or setting things up on our own, that eventually our dreams will come. We think if we can just work hard enough, our day will come. Worship is about so much more than just standing and singing a few songs. The words we sing have so much truth to them. If you look at a few songs we do here at Faith, you will see what I mean. “If our God is for us then who could ever stop us.” “When I speak Your name, mountains move, chains are loosed.” “You make all things work together for my good.” Once we can come to an understanding that God wants good things

Do you believe the words you say every Sunday morning to God? I would ask you to consider what would happen in your life when you declare the glory of God over it. What would happen in your job if you believed that God is for you and nothing can stand against you? What would happen in your family if you believed that God makes all things work together for our good, even when we can’t see a glimpse of good? What would happen in your situation if you believed you were free? What would happen?

fcc Papercrafters:for those who love to scrap

This winter we are having the time of our lives studying Daniel: Lives of Integrity, Words of Prophecy by Beth Moore. We are learning how to live in our own Babylon with lives of integrity by refusing to bow down to the idols of our own culture and trusting in the Lord to give us the ability to live like Daniel. Every week is fresh with a new word from God. We learned about the kingdoms Nebuchanezzer (king of Babylon) had in his dream, which was interpreted by Daniel. Four of those kingdoms have already come - the Babylonian Empire, the Medo-Persian Empire, The Grecian Empire and the Roman Empire. There is one yet to come and it is so exciting to know that

Supporting a Grieving Person It can be tough to know what to say or do when someone you care about is grieving. It’s common to feel helpless, awkward, or unsure. You may be afraid of intruding, saying the wrong thing, or making the person feel even worse. Or maybe you feel there’s little you can do to make things better. While you can’t take away the pain of the loss, you can provide much-needed comfort and support. There are many ways to help a grieving friend or family member, starting with letting the person know you care. • Accept and acknowledge all feelings. Let the grieving person know that it’s okay to cry in front of you, to get angry, or to break down. Don’t try to reason with them over how they should or shouldn’t feel. The bereaved should feel free to express their feelings, without fear of judgment, argument, or criticism. • Be willing to sit in silence. Don’t press if the grieving person doesn’t feel like talking. You can offer comfort and support with your silent presence. If you can’t think of something to say, just offer eye contact, a squeeze of the hand, or a reassuring hug. • Let the bereaved talk about how their loved one died. People who are grieving may need to tell the story over and over again, sometimes in minute detail. Be patient. Repeating the story is a way of processing and accepting the death. With each retelling, the pain lessens. • Offer comfort and reassurance without minimizing the loss. Tell the bereaved that what they’re feeling is okay. If you’ve gone through a similar loss, share your own experience if you think it would help. However, don’t give unsolicited advice, claim to “know” what the person is feeling, or compare your grief to theirs.
