MINISTRY UPDATE:

P

NEW ZEALAND

Pastors Gary and Drenda recently had an opportunity to minister in New Zealand! Their ministry adventure began on the South Island at City Impact-Invercargill and City Impact-Queenstown Churches, both led by Pastors Daryl and Roberta Watson, where Gary shared his message of God’s provision and the Kingdom to a very connected and excited audience. “At the end of the session in Invercargill, there was a man who re-dedicated his life to God,” Drenda said. “He told us he had been painting on a ladder and his daughter had called and told him to quickly come to the church. After her continued insistence, he hesitantly stopped painting and showed up to the meeting. He shared with us that he had been angry with God for years but, after hearing our message, he understood that it wasn’t God who had caused his disillusionment, but rather a lack of understanding the Kingdom,” Drenda continued, “We got to share the goodness of our Father with him and pray with him. He was so thrilled and happy, and so was the church!” From the South Island, Gary and Drenda traveled to Auckland, on the North Island, to meet Pastor Peter and Bev Mortlock, the overseers of the South Island churches they visited, as well as the senior pastors of the City Impact-Auckland Church. After visiting and touring, Pastor Peter asked Gary to share the principles of the Kingdom in the evening prayer service, and the media team quickly spread the word throughout the area via email and text, which resulted in a large crowd that evening! From there, Gary and Drenda traveled to North City Connections Church in Hamilton, New Zealand, under the direction of Pastors Ian and Annette Dixson, where they were able to share their first full five-session Now Revolution Conference in the country. Attendance was high, the people responded with excitement all the way to the final session, and many were filled with the Holy Spirit. Gary was also able to share in a business breakfast with about 40 local business people, as well as a luncheon with local pastors.

Drenda takes a leap of faith!

That weekend, Gary and Drenda also visited a Maori-led church— a small church in a rural area— to teach about the Kingdom provision of God. There they also had the opportunity to bless the people by sowing the Now Revolution and other materials into their lives. “We had a great time in New Zealand sharing God’s Word,” Drenda said. “We felt like we should keep going and going! From the ministry, to our wonderful conversations with Sean at City Impact-Queenstown’s innovative Child Development Center, to bungee jumping off the Kawarau Bridge, we were blessed to take in many beautiful sites, sounds, foods, and experiences.” Please join us in prayer for the people of Christchurch, New Zealand, whose lives were greatly impacted by a devastating 6.3-magnitude earthquake in February.

We want to thank our partners for helping us share the messages of faith, family, and financial restoration around the world! Partnership allows the ministries of Faith Life Now to continue spreading the life-changing message of God’s Kingdom. Just like that woman, one idea can change your life. When you’re stuck, you need an idea you’ve never thought of before. That’s where God comes in. And that’s where PROVISION 2011 comes in. We’ll teach you how to capture your ideas and get the plan to walk them out.

The PROVISION 2011 Entrepreneur’s Conference is coming to The Now Center April 1 and 2. Now, I know what you might be thinking. “PROVISION is an entrepreneur’s conference. I’m not an entrepreneur.” Many people are just like you—they don’t see themselves as entrepreneurs. They don’t see themselves as business-minded. But PROVISION is about changing that. It’s about teaching regular people, like you and me, a new way of thinking.

This year, I’m honored to have Rick Suarez as my guest Keynote Speaker. Rick started his first business at the age of 19, and was a millionaire by the age of 24. When Rick accepted the Lord at the age of 29, his business took on a whole new meaning—it became a means to fund the Kingdom, reach people, and change lives. As Rick allows God to direct his steps, his businesses continue to grow at an accelerated rate into the hundreds of millions. I can’t emphasize enough how important it is that you get to PROVISION 2011. Stop waiting for something to change! Come learn how you and God can change your life!

See, you might not see yourself as an entrepreneur, but God does. You’re called to something. You have an assignment. But, before you can really follow God on that assignment, you have to be able to take care of your family and pay your bills. How is that going to happen? Business.

II Kings 4 may be a story that is familiar to you, but have you really looked at it? The woman was a widow and in serious debt. The debt collectors were getting ready to take her sons into slavery. Notice that, when she asked Elisha for help, he asked her what she had in her house. And, the rest is history—the oil she had multiplied and she sold it. In reality, what happened? God put her in business.

Don’t Overlook Your Gold

H

Here’s an interesting story. In 1799, the owners of the Reed farm in Raleigh, North Carolina found a big rock on their property. They thought it made a great doorstop. Now, keep in mind that gold mining was the second largest business venture after agriculture at that time. So, for three years these people used this big rock as a doorstop until, one night, a local jeweler came over for dinner. He saw the rock and he checked it out. It was a 17-pound nugget of 24-carat gold. Yes, this is a true story. Later, they found other nuggets on that farm. In fact, by 1831 they had found more than $10 million worth of gold. Ten million dollars! Now, you tell me—how many times do you think those people had walked around that gold nugget doorstop? How many times do you think they moved it in and out of place never knowing what they had their hands on? In fact, according to the story, they sold that rock for pretty cheap. You know that jeweler wasn’t about to tell them what that rock was when he bought it from them. So why am I telling you that story? Because your ideas are just like that rock. The Kingdom in you is just like that rock. And you’re probably just like those people on the farm. Maybe you’re walking around it not knowing it’s there, or you’re bumping into it and moving it around everyday and you still haven’t realized it. Let me tell you, it is the most valuable thing you possess! Maybe you do realize that fact a little, but you don’t know what to do with it or how to move forward. First, you need to understand how the Kingdom of God operates. Then, you need to get a God-breathed dream on the inside of you. Because having that dream will get you out of bed in the morning. It will motivate you and pull you. It will be all you can talk about. It will change your life.

Remember, your dream may look like someone else’s problem. I always say, “If you see a problem, you can solve it, because you recognize it.” Many times, people don’t recognize a problem, or they put up with it because they’ve become accustomed to it. Or, they run from it because they don’t think God’s in it. But when you see it, you can fix it. Just look at it as an opportunity. Think like David and look at the reward. 1 Samuel 17 records that David came with the supplies and heard Goliath ranting and raving. He said three times in that chapter—you can go check it out—three times, he said, “What will be done for the man who rids Israel of this disgrace? What will be done?” They told him the reward, and he asked again. In fact, his brother got annoyed with him for asking. But what was on David’s mind? The reward. So, start looking for your reward! When you find your opportunity, ask God for the plan to walk it out. It’s time to make it happen. God has put gold on your farm. It’s time to see it.

NEW RAND RAM FOR B R U O ROG HING C SION P TELEVI MEN - LAUNG! WO HIS SPRIN T

Bringing women together in emotional, relational and spiritual wholeness. We must analyze our lives and eliminate the things that don’t align with our priorities, goals, and overall purpose. Then we must add whatever is missing.

GET BALANCE

H

How many things are on your plate right now? When was the last time you took a good look at your priorities? Can you really say that how you’re spending your time aligns with your life’s purpose? Trying to juggle too many things can leave us feeling exhausted and hopeless. If we’re not attentive to our true priorities, we can easily lose sight of where we’re going. The only way to avoid that is to establish what is truly important in our lives. Often that means we have to look at how we’re spending our time and ask ourselves some tough questions. Is there an important area you’re neglecting? What do you want your life to look like in ten years, or twenty, or forty? When you stand before God, will you be prepared to give an account for your life? Are you on course? What choices are influencing you away from your priorities?

This article includes excerpts from Drenda’s newly released book “She Get’s It!” by Destiny Image, available now wherever books are sold. Get more information at Drenda.com

My priorities are in this order: my relationship with God, my husband, our children, then our family’s provision (vocational calling, business, full-time ministry), church ministry, and friends. Notice that my relationship with God and obedience to Him are separate from the church in priority. Matthew 6:33 says, “But seek first his Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” Drawing life-giving nourishment from God and His Word must be a daily priority. This strengthens our mind (thought life), brings our will in alignment with God’s, stabilizes our emotions, and helps bring life and health to our body as the temple of God. With God’s guidance and stability in my life, I am better able to be the wife, mother, minister, and friend I’m called to be. As you pray and spend time with God each day, ask Him to show you how to manage your priorities and those of your family as well. Let the Holy Spirit reveal priorities that might be misaligned. Perhaps you’ve been neglecting your spiritual life and you need to set aside time each day to spend with God. Or perhaps you’ve put your vocation or friends above your spouse and children and you need to schedule a weekly date night or family time. Take the time to seek God and receive His plan for balancing your life.

The woman who has “IT” has learned the importance of boundaries to help maintain balance and keep the urgent from stealing the important.

LETTERS FROM YOU

“I was struggling with credit card debt so I sowed a $100 seed for financial breakthrough. In November, I received overtime hours that allowed me to bring home an additional $1000 a week over a sevenweek period. Because of the increase, I was able to pay off a credit card in three months instead of two and a half years! Thank you so much for your teachings!”

“I am a woman of faith, but I have never heard teaching like yours. It just unpacks the truths of the Word of God and shows, all the way, systematically through the Bible how faith works. I learned so much—I know I’m changed forever. I know our church is changed forever.”
