FAKRO started out in the early nineties in Nowy Sacz, Poland where the idea to manufacture skylights and roof windows was adopted by the company’s founders. Today, the company’s headquarters, thirteen foreign subsidiaries, seven manufacturing companies in Poland and five abroad jointly employ in excess of three thousand people. The path leading to the company’s current status is paved with several years of continuous work on new structural solutions, improving production processes and the selection of only top quality raw materials. FAKRO skylights meet the requirements of IGCC (Insulating Glass Certification Council) and IGMA (Insulating Glass Manufacturers Alliance) requirements for initial and post gas fill weathering certification. FAKRO skylights also meet the applicable requirements of the North American Fenestration Standards AAMA/WDMA/ CSA 101/I.S.2/A440-05 (A440) for windows, doors and skylights.

Protection Against Effects Of Outside Condensation Very thick wooden frame allows us to eliminate all installation metal hardware, where water can condensate and get on the roof deck and eventually behind the drywall inside the construction. NO METAL ATTACHED – NO CONDENSATION - NO WATER ON ROOF DECK AND BEHIND DRYWALL – 100% guaranteed. Installed ice-water shield during installation process protects wooden frame from condensation. Condensation will appear on the ice-water shield not on the outside frame surface.

Why FAKRO CAN offer A LIFETIME WARRANTY – FACTS ABOUT FAKRO Protection Against Effects Of Inside Condensation (No dripping water on frame and drywall) A very thick, almost twice as thick as other brand skylights, wooden frame and no metal attached to the outside frame prevent condensation on the inside frame surface. No metal hardware attached to the outside frame minimizes temperature conduction and increases insulation of entire unit. A special wide internal gasket system collects water from glass condensation and drains it outside onto the roof surface. A specially design and formed gasket system prevents dripping water on the wooden frame and drywall. The customer may always add extra insulation to the frame by adding our insulated flashing system.

Easy And Simple installation Installation of a skylight has never been so easy: - dedicated skylight template, for fast and easy marking of rough opening, - metal pins (included) to hold the skylight in the center above the rough opening, no moving to sides or sliding down effect! - just 4 to 6 screws (provided) go through the frame to install the skylight on the roof, - no attachment brackets on the outside of the frame. Very convenient for water ice-shield application, - perfect for new construction and retrofit applications (where rough openings are slightly out of square), Thick frame compensates better for retrofit R.O. - ONE man installation!

Leak Proof Skylight FAKRO skylights, by definition, are leak-proof. When installed according to installation instructions, with an original flashing kit and an ice-water shield membrane, FAKRO warrants a10-YEAR LEAK-PROOF installation.

High Thermal Properties An Energy Star qualified glazing unit, a thicker wooden timber frame, a special perimeter gasket underneath the frame, a double seal system (FV, FVE skylights), a bracket and metal flange-free installation all go together to create a durable and energy efficient skylight. A lack of metal flanges around the skylights frame, reduces accumulation and conductivity of heat or cold into the room, through the frame - roof deck connection point. A gasket located on the underside of the wooden frame, seals the unit to the roof deck during the installation process. This gasket protects against leaks and outside condensation. Thermal bridges are minimized and the gasket eliminates cost and time since unit is already sealed between the frame and roof deck. Moreover, use of FAKRO ThermAL flashing further increases the great thermal properties of the skylights. This is important in both cold and hot regions.

Factory Finished. No Extra Work Required. Builders and Homeowners save time and money – knot free, wooden frames on Fakro skylights are already finished. The frames are pressure treated, double painted and protected for many years to come. All the joints are sealed and painted – moisture can not seep into the corners on the inside of the skylight.

EL, ELA flashing is suitable for skylights installed with flat roofing materials such as shingles, plain-tile, double-lap roofing and slates. The side elements of the flashing are laid alternately with the roofing material (maximum roofing material thickness 5/16’’). Bottom section of the flashing is equipped with a butyl strip to protect against wind driven rain in stormy conditions. EL-T Thermo, ELA-T Thermo flashing are new products in the FAKRO range that combine especially well with an insulated roof. These flashings help eliminate “cool areas” that sometimes occur between roof deck and skylight causing condensation on the interior drywall. The underside of the Thermo flashing has flexible insulating material, creating a barrier by tightly sealing the skylight frame. FAKRO’s Thermo flashing works well in combination with insulated roofs and is especially recommended in cold regions. The flashing for profiled and high-profiled corrugated materials joins the skylight with roofing materials such as tiles or corrugated metal sheets. A wider and longer lower section allows a tighter joint with the high profiled roofing material (the height of the profile 1 1/4 “to 3 1/2”). A butyl strip holds down the bottom section of flashing. SRF blackout blinds are made of an elegant, decorative material. Side runners enable room interior blackout. SRF blackout blinds can be stopped at any point along the track up or down the skylight. The telescopic SZS Control Rod consists of three sections. Minimum length of the rod is 5’, maximum length is 10’. The last section is equipped with a metal ball for operating the manual opening mechanism of the FV skylight, manual blackout blinds (SRF-MV) and Venetian (SJP-MV, SJM-MX) blinds. The other end of the last section is equipped with a plastic cap for operating manual blackout blinds (SRF-MX) and for pulling (both manual and electrical) Venetian blinds up and down.

Crank SZK The eyelet on skylights installed within easy reach can be replaced by a crank to make manual opening and closing of the skylight easier.

Egress Roof Window FWU Fakro Side Hung Egress FWU window is designed for rooms where building codes require two methods of egress (escape). We recommend that you install Fakro side-hinged skylights for use as an egress roof window for safety and building code approval. The egress window is available in two versions, right opening FWU-R or left opening FWU-L (pictured). FWU egress window provides a way of escape in case of emergency and also lets extra light into the room. FWU size 24/46 window is officially recognized as a certified Fire Exit roof window (Egress window*), and can help save lives in case of emergencies, such as a fire. * - model FWU 24/46 tested in accordance with IRC section R 310.1.1, R 310.1.2, R 310.1.3, R 310.1.4

FAKRO Pivot Window FTP-V L3 FT center pivot window is the most popular type of Fakro roof window sold in Europe. The well-designed center pivot allows the sash to open in a range of positions, thus increasing the amount of fresh air which can be drawn into the room. The sash can also be rotated 180° and locked, allowing easy and safe cleaning of the outer pane. Such pivot windows are operated using a two-part hinge. Once the window is closed, fresh air can still circulate by positioning the hinge at the top of the frame air inlet. The V40P automatic air inlet by automatically adjusting the size of the flow channel provides an optimum amount of air into the room ensuring a healthy microclimate in the attic and energy savings. At a pressure difference of 10Pa air inlet capacity is up to 49m3/h depending upon the window width. The capacity rises up to the point where the optimum value is achieved. If the pressure difference continues to grow, the airflow capacity stays on the same stable level. The elastic, pneumatic flap deflects, limiting the amount of inflowing air by reducing the air inlet duct area. The average amount of fresh air being allowed through the air inlet is 23-49m3/h, depending on the size of the window.

Automatic V40P air inlet used in FAKRO windows is of unique design: — the air inlet channel is made in such a way that hot air avoids cold elements of the aluminium, as a result there is no presence of water vapour condensation (such situations may occur when the normal gravitational ventilation is not working properly and air inlet works as air outlet) — the air inlet construction provides proper thermal and acoustics features — the air inlet has good filtration characteristics which means that dust cannot get into the room.

The innovative FTT roof window offers very good overall heat-transfer coefficient for the whole window, guaranteeing significant energy savings. They can be widely applied in energy efficient construction. FTT windows are offered in two versions: — FTT U8 Thermo window, equipped with a triple-chamber U8 glazing unit, supplied and installed with EHV-AT Thermo flashing is characterized by the best U-value Uw = 0.58 W/m²K (R-Value 9.8), which makes it the most energy-efficient roof window on the market. — FTT U6 is equipped with double-chamber glazing unit U6. The window can be installed with any type of FAKRO flashing. FTT U6 window U-value for the whole window is Uw= 0.81 W/m²K (R-Value 7.0). — The innovative structure of the FTT window exploits glazing units which are set in a specially designed sash frame. It offers wider wooden profiles in comparison with standard windows. This special design minimizes thermal bridges and provides improved window insulation. — A FTT window has specific functional properties. It is a center pivot window, where the axis of rotation of the sash was raised by about 3 1/2” above the geometric center of the sash, so even a tall person can comfortably stand by the open window. The sash stops in the open position in the range from 0º to 45º because it is assisted by an innovative supporting mechanism. Large window sizes and raised axis of rotation permits lots of light in the room and unobstructed access to the opened window.

FAKRO Top hung and pivot window FPP-V L3 The FPP-V L3 top hung and pivot window opens in two distinct ways: outwards from the top and via a center pivot. The outward opening function enables the sash to be opened in any position from 0° to 35°, while the pivot function allows the sash to be rotated through 180°. The newly patented fitting system guarantees complete sash stability, both in the top hung and pivot positions. To add to the window’s visual appearance the external profile covering the window is roll formed, improving the visual design.

The lower part of the sash fulfills a top hung window function and the upper part of the sash is an additional source of daylight. The sash can be opened and held in any position from 0 to 45 degrees by an innovative supporting mechanism enabling the sash to be open in any position within the range. The window, when installed in roofs with pitches 39-43 degrees, will satisfy the requirements of DIN 5034-1 standard, accordingly to which the bottom window edge has to be situated 371/2 ”above the floor level and the top at a minimum 861/2 ”.

The D_F non-domed flat roof skylight is characterized by exceptional thermal insulation qualities and innovative design. Modern skylight bonding technology gives a highly aesthetic and innovative design. The D_F skylight can be manufactured in a wide range of sizes and is an ideal replacement for old skylights that do not meet current thermal insulation parameters. A specially profiled covering material under the drip cap of the frame facilitates the finishing of the skylight connection with the roofing material. LIGHT TUNNEL

FAKRO LIGHT TUNNELS SLT/SRT A light tunnel’s main role is to supply the interior with the proper amount of natural light. Application of light tunnels make it possible to illuminate all rooms in the building, even those which cannot be fitted with skylights or vertical windows. Dimly lit interiors such as bathrooms, dressing rooms, corridors, staircases or basements can particularly benefit from light tunnels and enhance the space as well as save on electricity. Light tunnels channel the daylight through the dome mounted on the roof. Subsequently, the sun’s rays reflected from the walls of the reflective tube are directed downwards onto the light diffuser. The diffuser fitted into the ceiling spreads the light, evenly illuminating the whole interior.

There are two main types of light tunnels: SLT – with flexible tubing, SRT – with rigid tubing.

Features: - SLT flexible light tunnel consists of the following parts: 1 x dome, 1 x light transmitting tube 79” (2m) long, 1 x prismatic diffuser, 1 x transparent diffuser and 1 x ceiling frame; - SRT rigid light tunnel consists of the following parts: 1 x dome, 1 x rigid light transmitting tube, 1 x elbow, 1 x prismatic diffuser, 1 x transparent diffuser and 1 x ceiling frame; total length of assembled light tube with straight set elbow is 82” (2.1m)

SLM Light Transmitting Tube Extension Kit. The kit for flexible reflective tubing (SLT), consists of: connecting ring, light transmitting tube 47” (120cm) adhesive tape. The light transmitting tube has other lengths available to order, but they have to be calculated as multiples of 1’ (30cm) e. g. 2’ , 3’, 4’ (60cm, 90cm, 120cm).

SLO

SLC hanger. Used when an

overall light transmitting tube is longer than 16.4’ (5m). The hangers are used in order to support part of the tube’s weight. Applying SLC hanger eliminates the need to use the extension kit SLM. Only part of the light transmitting tube has to be purchased.

SFP

SLO light kit is applied as an alternative source of illumination at nightfall. Light kit is installed inside the SLT or SRT light tunnel.
