The versus story….. Versus is a design company based in Denmark - a country world famous for its clean uncompromising aesthetics in both architecture and furniture design. Founded in 2010 by Peter Barreth and Henrik Lerche. Strong roots in traditional construction techniques and craftsmanship, our style has evolved into a niche of its own, interpreting previous design aesthetics from the 1950´s and 60´s and renewing them to fit a modern lifestyle. Versus design and produce high-end contemporary furniture with versus identity – using tough lasting materials aiming for a strong price point. Our background – our strength…. Peter is a third generation upholsterer crafted in old school techniques with several years experience from traditional upholstery work, product development, production and design. Henrik is educated in commerce and trade with experience in purchase, design, administration, management and also owner of an upholstery production unit in Denmark. Between us we have over 30 years experience in design – and development of upholstery furniture, construction techniques, materials and production. Versus – craftsmanship….. We work with strong leading fabric suppliers Kvadrat and Gabriel from Denmark, Camira from UK, Mahan from USA and also a young new vibrant company like Febrik. Our sofa frames are hand build from European plywood and seat frames used are built from solid European pine. Each seat frame is mounted with steel Nosag springs creating the toughest and most durable solution. We only use Eco-Tex labelled high-density cold cured foam from leading European suppliers. All foam qualities are fire retardant for your safety. Versus upholstery are hand built in EU and comes with a 5-year warranty. The details….. Each new model is tested in the private homes of the founders. It is important to know how the upholstery and construction reacts to everyday use. Shape is important – and comfort is essential. We include small comfort details into our products. We implement small details that makes difference in the use, and always detect and correct mistakes by testing intensively before release for your benefit and joy.

Basset
Iskos — Berlin Design is a partnership of Boris Berlin and Aleksej Iskos. The company works within the fields of industrial, furniture and graphic design. The firm was only established in late 2010, but Boris and Aleksej have been working together for a number of years. In 1987, Boris cofounded Komplot Design, where Aleksej was employed as an assistant for more than 11 years. This long and fruitful cooperation has allowed them to develop a shared philosophy of design. In their own words:”
Basset’s sculptural language is simple and clear. There are just two elements – a horizontal “pillow” for a seat and a vertical “duvet” at the back that wraps around the seat, embracing it from the sides. Upholstery details – marked piping is used to accentuate its shape in a natural way, giving it an easily recognizable design “signature”. Basset doesn’t demand much space and fits easily into smaller rooms. develop a shared philosophy of design. In their own words:”
”We wanted to design a compact but comfortable “family” of sofas that harked back to classic soft furniture styles – especially to the post WW2 period”.
Basset is constructed and produced following the finest traditions of craftsmanship for this type of furniture.

Seat frame build from solid pine mounted with strong steel springs to ensure high comfort and durability. Foam construction is built entirely from EcoTex labeled fire retardant cold cured foam. Versus only use high end and high density foam qualities for comfort and durable shape for many years. Seat quality and top layer of arms and back construction are constructed from 40 kg. foam. Back and arm rests are padded with heavy layer of 35 kg. foam. Heavy shrouds made from 27 kg. foam. For smooth fabric movement all parts are covered with polyester netting. Solid oak legs.

KiBiSi is the reference idea-driven industrial design firm. For KiBiSi ideas and products are intrinsically tied: Product should be the carrier of its brand idea rather than some designer's form and formula. KiBiSi designs often explore the potential of crossbreeding elements or attributes from different disciplines in to new functional and aesthetic hybrids.
KiBiSi has designed the Brick series for versus. The series consists of a pouf, a chair, a arm chair, a two and three seater. KiBiSi set out to make a sofa with strong architectural references since KiBiSi partner Bjarke Ingels couldn’t really find the right architect’s sofa for his apartment. The point of departure was a classic brick bond forming the cushion pattern. The cushions are tied together and fixed with a tailor quality button. The button, also designed by KiBiSi, is molded of fiber concrete – Yet another architectural reference. Bjarke Ingels of KiBiSi says: “What is a sofa but a pile of pillows for maximum comfort? Turning the habitual modularity of sofa design into a virtue, the Brick explores the tectonic of bricklaying to stack sandbag like cushions into architecture for comfort.” craftsmanship for this type of furniture.
Materials Base sections are constructed from European plywood - a tough, light an durable solution. The cushions structure are held in place and supported by steel tubes and stainless steel construction. Foam construction is built entirely from EcoTex labeled fire retardant cold cured foam. Versus only use high end and high density foam qualities for comfort and durable shape for many years. All cushions have a core of 35 kg. foam covered in high end 40 kg. foam glued into shape. All cushions are covered with polyester netting for smooth fabric movement. !4 small adjustable legs on each base section. Strong metal fittings keep the base sections locked to each other. A strong design feature is the concrete button - designed by KiBiSi for Brick.

Mika Tolvanen was born in Lieksa, Finland 1975.
Emo Sofa is an update to the classic 1950s sofa with a more inviting, less rigid appearance. I wanted to make a low-slung sofa that is simple, elegant, and comfortable. It is a balance of thin and thick parts that looks as good from the back as from the front.Adjustable legs on each unit
After graduating from Royal College of Art in London 2001, he established his studio from where he has worked independently since. We work with a variety of clients on consumer products, furniture and lighting. Mika Tolvanen is also member of Rehti-group, a Finnish design collective, and has designed several unique products for young Scandinavian design companies.

Inside - and outside frame covered with 35 kg foam. All frame parts covered in a thick layer of fiber wadding. Loose Loose is a modern lounge sofa - soft and feminine but also with an appealing masculine touch. No redundancy - only exactly what you need in a modern and appealing lounge sofa. A cool looking sofa with great comfort. We wanted to design a sofa series with a loose and "sloppy" look without compromising the quality and durability. The high quality inner workings, built the traditional Scandinavian way, ensures great comfort, durability and a strong identity. The arms offer as much support and comfort as the back of the sofa. Adjustable legs on each unit

“Our goal was to create an enticing “edible” sofa…” Macaroon is a warm and inviting "family" of sitting-room furniture, including a two seater sofa and an armchair. They share a clear and comprehensible sculptural language and structure, with softly rounded "cushions" that seem to be made of two halves... just like a macaroon. Macaroon is designed for comfort and is constructed and manufactured according to the finest traditions of Danish furniture production.

Pump versus central idea behind the Pump sofa is to make an interpretation of a modern sofa, a lounge sofa with carefully chosen proportions, very comfortable and no decorative frills. Pump sofa is bulky, soft and welcoming, and the high quality inner workings ensure lasting comfort seats.The arms offer as much support as the rear of the system which provides opportunities for a variable style use. Thanks to its modular structure, the Pump sofa shape can be defined personally and changed at any time.

KiBiSi is among Scandinavias most influential design groups today. KiBiSi has worked across a wide range of disciplines, creating everything from furniture and household objects, to bicycles and aircraft, and signature designs for clients across the globe. Urban Mobility, Architectural Illumination and Personal Electronics are among the global niches KiBiSi have consistently explored in recent years.
Roulade is a meeting between generations and genres, a meeting between mattress and Chesterfield, chair and couch. Roulade is a Swiss Roll turned sofa - a contemporary, iconic and humorous character with a cozy and comfortable expression. Roulade is made from High Density foam cut into a fixed shape reminiscent of a rolled up mattress. It is upholstered with top class materials such as Kvadrat fabrics; And the comfort and durability is outstanding. It is a sort of new comer – a plump 1,5 pax sofa designed for laid back hangout Bespoke, oversized buttons modernize the old school Chesterfield expression.
Materials Roulade is cut from one large block of 35 kg. fire retardant cold cured foam. The foam is Eco-tex labeled and produced in EU. Foam covered in polyester netting to ensure upholstery can move on the foam. Upholstery available from high end brands Kvadrat, Gabriel and Camira. Large buttons gives Roulade identity. Roulade is a fixed chair and can not be rolled out. Small felt legs.

Marte Frøystad Marte Frøystad is a young Norwegian designer, with a Master’s degree in Design from Oslo National Academy of the Arts. She is currently living and working in Oslo where she runs the design studio; Frøystad + Klock, together with Runa Klock.
Tosom Tosom 2 is a standing invitation to cuddle up alone, or with a close friend or a child in your arms! This XL-chair is especially designed for informal seating positions, with plenty of space for curling your feet up. The chair answers humans’ needs for taking a step back, into a safe warm corner – away from our hectic daily-life. The design is based on traditional construction- and production methods, but with a modern look. hip for this type of furniture.
