Sessions involve theatre games, improvisations, script work and developing technical production skills. Based in our gorgeous working theatre, we offer a supportive environment for young people to improve their skills, gain confidence and make friends.
We grow a passion for theatre in our young people, stimulate their imagination, and help develop their enthusiasm and confidence to ask questions about the world around them.

Steppin Out Stars of Tomorrow
The school started very humbly as a franchise, and then five years later the magic happened, and Steppin Out became the huge success it is today, boasting over 300 students.
Its Principal Shelley Otway was an actress, singer and dancer professionally for over 20 years and then re-trained to be a personal trainer and fitness coach. Several years later she realised that her knees would not be able to continue with the amount of classes she was teaching, and so she set up her school.
Shelley said “With any business there are the ups and downs. Running over 70 classes a week in lockdown was challenging but created an amazing feeling of belonging to something really very special. I love creating the big, amazing shows in a professional theatre, as so many schools do not offer this opportunity and children love to be on the stage!” Children have taken part in West End shows Matilda, Billy Elliot, The Lion King, The Sound Of Music and Les Misérables.
