The Pre-School at Portsmouth Grammar School offers outstanding care for girls and boys from age 2½ to 4, enabling them to become confident and happy children who are active, independent learners.

The bespoke environment nestled in the grounds of The Portsmouth Grammar School prepares children for entry into Reception with pupils enjoying regular access to the many facilities in the Junior School including a library, dining room, theatre and hall, which we regularly use for music, gym and dance sessions. The Pre-School building itself provides both indoor and outdoor play solely for our very youngest pupils.

The professionally qualified staff are experienced in giving individualised care, recognising and nurturing each child’s strengths alongside supporting their development. The Pre-School Lead is a qualified teacher and works closely with the Head of Pre-School and Infants.

The Pre-School is now open from 7.30am-5.30pm daily during term time. A choice of sessions are available daily, including ‘all day’ care. Hot lunches are also available for children, or you may provide a packed lunch.
