WEEKLY Yard Sale Saturday in Commissary Lot Getting ready to leave and have a lot of items you would like to turn into cash? Just got here and looking for something that’s in your household goods and won’t be here for awhile? Camp Humphreys is having an old fashion Yard Sale in the Commissary Parking lot starting at 0900 Saturday, and you’re invited as either a seller or a shopper. Tables are $10 each and you can add an awning for another $10. If you have PCS orders within a 60-day window, your table will only be $5. And you keep whatever you make! Spaces are limited, so please contact Outdoor Rec at 7533013 (031-690-3013) to reserve your spot.

Outdoor Rec and the DPW Environmental Division will be joined by the Boy Scouts, Girls Scouts and other Community organizations to celebrate Earth Day from 1000-1400 this Saturday at Transformation Park.

The front entrance of the Child Development Center has been blocked off for a construction project. Parents should us the entrance between the bus stop and middle school (Education Center) for drop-offs and pick-ups. Watch for updated information.

Activities will include art and photo contests, demonstration booths, door prizes, food and beverages and Earth Day education designed for both children and adults. The Art Contest is for the best item created using recyclable materials from your home, while the Photo Contest is for the best environmental or nature photo. Photo entry deadline is Wednesday. Encore performance Saturday After three full-house performances in March, the musical-comedy Honk will have an “encore appearance” at the Camp Humphreys Community Activity Center at 1900 Saturday. Honk is the creation of a large group of Humphreys theatre enthusiasts in the Community and drew rave revues for its three shows. Here’s the chance for those who missed Honk first time around or want to see it again. Be early. Seating is limited.


News of note … VOLUNTEER PICNIC – National Volunteer Week will be celebrated with a picnic in the ACS gazebo from 1130-1330 Wednesday. All volunteers and members of the Community are invited. INTRAMURAL SOFTBALL – Register your Unit-Level team for the upcoming Intramural Softball Season by April 24. Call 753-8031 (031-690-8031) or stop by the Super Gym.

Dueling Pianos Friday Laugh to the antics of the Dueling Pianos at Tommy D’s Friday, starting at 2000.

Best Vocal Contest every Wednesday Tommy D’s seven week Best Vocals at the Hump Contest continues this Wednesday at 2000 and concludes May 16. Weekly winners receive prizes and advance to the finals where first prize is a $150 AAFES Gift Card. The contest is open to everyone except previous Operation Rising Star winners. Army Leisure Needs Survey Soldiers, Civilian Employees, Family Members and Retirees throughout the Army are receiving E-Mail messages inviting them to participate in the Army-Wide Leisure Needs Assessment Survey. CROSS-FIT SAFETY COURSE – A Cross-Fit Fundamentals and Safety Course will be held at the MP Hill Gym from 1700-2000 April 19. This is a mandatory class for all beginners. Another course is scheduled for May 3 SPRINGFEST – The annual SpringFst will be held at Independence Park Saturday, May 12. Family Readiness Groups, Private Organizations, Units or Youth Groups who want to operate Fund Raising Booths should send their contact information to Michael.mooney2@us.army.mil as soon as possible. Include Name of the Organization and E-Mail addresses and cell phone numbers for two contacts. BOSS BEACH BLAST – Make your reservations for the June 15-17 BOSS Beach Blast at the Community Activity Center. Cost is $150 per person. Call 753-8825 (031-690-8825) for further details.

Congratulations to A Co, 602nd ASB and 194th CSSB, champion and runner-up in the Camp Humphreys Indoor Soccer Tournament held at the MP Hill Gym Sunday. The two teams will represent Area III in the Army in Korea Indoor Soccer Championships at Camp Carroll April 20-22
