Hourly Care

Hourly care is offered daily for ages 6 weeks to Kindergarten. Slots are available from 0800 to 1630. Your child must be registered with CYS Services to attend. Call 753-8601 to make a reservation.

The CDC would like to introduce new staff members Ms. Sharon, Ms. Sonia, and Mr. Jeffrey! Be sure to take a second to make them feel welcome! We’d also like to say farewell to Strong Beginning’s Ms. Kendra. Good luck at your next duty station and you’ll truly be missed!

Parent Date Night Reminder

Parent Date Night will take place on April 15th from 1830 to 2230. Each child must have a current registration packet to participate. Parents must bring diapers and wipes, bottles, and a change of clothes. The fee for each child is $4.00 per hour with a minimum 2 hour reservation. Come in or call 753-8601 by March 7th to make your reservation!


Month of the Military Child CDC Carnival April is the month dedicated to the celebration of military children. As part of that celebration, on April 29th the CDC will hold our annual Month of the Military Child Carnival! There will be bounce houses, crafts, games, food, and special guests. All Full Day and Part Day Program participants and parents are welcome to join in the fun. Please call 753-8601 for more information!

Strong Beginnings Strong Beginnings is a full or part day program designed to build up to Kindergarden and focus on academic excellence which will help children transition to Kindergarden. Using the building blocks children already have, Strong Beginnings refines their skills. This program is designed for 4 and 5 year olds and runs from: 0900 to 1200 each day.

Swimming Club: In between Winter and Summer Swim Seasons, the Humphreys Swim Club will meet for training sessions. Monday and Wednesday evenings at the CAC indoor pool. Sign-up at the Youth Sports Office (located in the Rec Annex, BLDG 111) for this FREE club. Children and youth ages 6-18 are welcome.

Road Runners Running Club: The Humphreys Road Runners are still running! In

April, the group plans to move outside again to Zoeckler Track. The group meets on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Sign-up at the Youth Sports Office (located in the Rec Annex, BLDG 111). School Age Services PAC

Win Points PAC*chair members (president, vice president and secretary) receive a 10% discount on monthly childcare fees. PAC attendees will receive a WIN point for each meeting they attend; once 5 WIN points are collected they will receive a 10% discount on that month’s childcare fees.

PAC (Parent Advisory Council) Meeting Info (meetings are the 2nd Thursday of every month) There will be no PAC meeting for April due to scheduled Spring Break activities. The next PAC meeting will be held on 12 May 2011. All attendees will receive 2 SAS WIN points; once 5 points are collected a 10% discount is applied to the attendee’s childcare fee for the month. All PAC board members receive an automatic 10% monthly discount. SAS is now accepting nominations for PAC president; any interested parents can contact SAS at 753-8507 for more information.

Farewell Karla Burke To the Humphrey’s Community:

I would like to take a moment to let you know that my family and I will be leaving shortly to PCS to Maryland; I would also like to say thank you for the wonderful experience and support that was provided to me as the School Age Services (SAS) Program Director of Camp[ Humphreys. I have enjoyed working as the Director of SAS and I will truly miss all of the wonderful children, families, and staff that I have been blessed to have met and work with. Thanks again for everything. If your Child is registered with USAG-Humphreys CYS Services then he or she is also a member of the youth Birthday club. Cooking Club (will meet on Monday 4 and 18 April @ 1600-1700)

This month the SAS Cooking Club will be cooking Fruit Chocolate Fondue! (4 April: 3rd-5th and 18 April: 1st-2nd)

Drama Club (will meet on Tuesday 5 and 19 April @ 1600-1700) Drama club members will begin working on their Spring Play skit to perform for Month of the Military Child Celebration.

Magic Club (will meet on Tuesday 12 and 26 April @ 1600-1700)

Magic club will be learning how to perform magic spell tricks and a teleporting card game. S.M.A.R.T. Girls (Skills, Mastery, And, Resistance, Training) Meets on Wednesdays @1600-1700. SMART Girls is a health, fitness, prevention/education and self-esteem enhancement program for girls. This club will meet on 6 and 20 April for girls in the 3rd- 5th grade who attend SAS.

The Technology Club (Thursdays 1600-1700) combines 4-H and BGCA learning models and offers members the opportunity to learn and explore technology. Youth will have the opportunity to explore Computer Hardware/Software, Robotics, and Digital Photography just to name a few. Please contact the CYSS Technology Specialist Casey Batchelor at 753-8645. Science Club will meet on Thursday 7 and 21 April - Science club members will begin a planting project. Art Club (Fridays 1600-1700) – The SAS Art Club will be creating foam egg magnets and yo-yo hair ribbons in the month of April, all interested SAS children our encouraged to sign up and share their creativity.

1/4/11: T-Shirt Painting!: We will be painting t-shirts! If you want to paint a t-shirt please bring your own! If you do not want to paint t-shirts, OR forget to bring one you can make a butterfly sun catcher using dark construction paper, hole punchers and tissue paper. 8/4/11: Play dough Day!: Get out the play dough and all our cutter, rollers and go to town! Remember we have to leave our play dough creations at art group for the next time! 15/4/11: Rubbings: There will be shape cut outs taped to the tables for the kids to place paper over and color over using a crayon to create rubbings! Cool! 22/4/11: Baby oil painting: New painting! Use baby oil to paint on construction paper! Kind of cool! 29/4/11: Paper plate Flowers: Cut a paper plate into a flower shape (with a hole in the middle) use strips of paper to weave around the flower shape to create a colorful flower. Attach yarn to hang!
