Amsa-Dong Prehi Settlement Site Amsa-Dong Prehistoric Settlement Site Tour 17 March, 1030

Amsa-dong, Gangdong-gu in southeastern Seoul. The Amsa-dong Prehistoric Settlement Site is the largest Neolithic discovery and is located in Seoul.

Amsa-dong Prehistoric Settlement Site, voted #115 out of #438 things to do in Seoul by Lonely Planet and the site's artifacts were designated by the National Historic Relic #267 in 1979, is a perfect place to reflect on the past and those that visit it may be more grateful for what we have in the present. In 1925, remains of earthenware that date back 3,000 to 4,000 years were discovered after the Han River flood washed away the area of

The tour will begin by entering the site in which was composed of a large colony of ancient buildings, stone axes, stone arrows which were uncovered as well as countless diagonal-line patterned artifacts. You'll experience the Neolithic Era by visiting the nine mud huts, exhibition halls displaying ancient artifacts and an open mud hut. The newly restored village is 23,208 square meters in size and includes numerous programs and activity sites which are very educational for children and families to enjoy. An example would be the “Cave of Time which is located near the entrance where patrons can learn more about the village's history through eight screens. As soon as you walk out of the cave, you can find some ancient huts. If you peek inside, you will discover how the villagers survived their dangerous world. Next to the

Innovative minds combined with the daily advances in technology are the driving forces leading our society to be reliant on the extras in life. Extras refer to anything which is not a bare necessity (i.e. food, water, fire). Stepping outside of the norm and reflecting on how our ancestors lived centuries ago maybe exactly what the doctor ordered to remind us to not stress over the small things but think of a time when everyday was a live or die situation.
