Far East High School wrestlers invade Humphreys Super Gym In case you’re wondering where all those high school kids wearing Guam, Kubasaki and Yakota lettermen’s jackets came from this week, they are all part of the Far East High School Wrestling Tournament that started at the Super Gym Monday morning. High school teams from mainland Japan, Misawa, Okinawa, Guam and Korea are all participating in what amounts to the largest high school tournament in Asia. If you get a chance, stop in. New Family & MWR Director on board Don Claycomb, the new director of USAG-Humphreys Family & MWR, has arrived in Korea from Fort Meade, Maryland. Don and his wife, Nancy, are busy processing into Korea, and he will be formally introduced to the Community at the monthly Community Update Brief (CUB) scheduled for 1300 March 1 at the Community Activity Center. Don replaces Steve Ryan. Community Recreation Division Chief Jim Howell has been the acting director.
Gospel Concert this Thursday The Lift Up Your Spirit Gospel Concert is scheduled for the Community Activity Center Thursday night at 1900. The concert features Rizen, James Fortune, Keith ‘Wonderboy’ Johnson and Army Soldier Show alumni Calvin Snead.
Sophisticated Saturday this week The monthly Sophisticated Saturday is this week at Tommy D’s. Dinner is at 1900, followed by entertainment. Cost is $50 a couple or $35 for a single. Updated Aerobics schedule now on Web The monthly Aerobics schedule is subject to change on a daily basis. In an effort to make an updated and current schedule available to the community, new schedules will now be posted on the USAG-Humphreys Web site as changes take place. Check humphreys.korea.army.mil. You can also go to USAG HUMPHREYS FITNESS on Facebook to be kept up to date.
Customer Service Survey needs input The annual Family & MWR Customer Service Survey will continue through the end of February, but more input is needed for it to do any good. .It’s easy to complete. Interested in running a marathon? Sports director Lonnie Herring wants to see how many people are interested in running the Seoul 42K Marathon March 20. Entry fee is $40.
