Eggstravaganza this Saturday @ Zoeckler The annual Eggstravaganza Youth Festival is planned for the Zoeckler Sports Field, this Saturday (April 23). Gates open at 1030. The annual Youth Festival commemorates Month of the Military Child, Easter and the Camp Humphreys version of Kid’s Day in a single day of activities. Highlight of the day is the annual Egg Grab where more than 15,000 stuffed eggs and toys are spread across the field. The Egg Grab starts promptly at 1100, so make sure you’re early. There are separate groupings for children 0-3, 4-6 and 7-10. The Egg Grab is being changed this year to an “Egg Hunt” for the 7-10 year old participants, although children 5-6 can join the hunt, too, if desired. Eggs and toys are being placed in area outside the Zoeckler fence for the Egg Hunt. Other festivities include four large blow-up games, face painting and activity booths run by Youth Services and free food provided by the Prince Hall Family lodges. The eXchange has provided three Gift Cards for each age group. A ticket will be placed inside three eggs or toys in each age group. Since Eggstravaganza is open to the children of all U.S. Military, Civilian and Contract employees as well as the children of all Korean Military and Civilian employees, the prize tickets will be redeemed for a toy if found by a child whose parents cannot shop in the eXchange. All children will be given an egg gathering bag upon entrance to the Zoeckler Sports Field. Children are encouraged to use these bags rather than containers brought from home. Other containers must be approved on site.
