Area III Festival of Performing Arts at CAC Saturday at 1900 Looking for amateur entertainment that is sure to run the gamut from very, very good to “where is the gong when you need it?” Then check out the Area III talent show at the Community Activity Center starting at 1900 Saturday. Talent from young to old will be on display, hoping to earn a spot in the Eighth Army Festival of Performing Arts Saturday, April 23, with adult talent headed for Yongsan and Youth talent to Daegu. Categories include Vocal Soloist, Instrumental Soloist, RAP, Spoken Word, Vocal Duet, Vocal Group, Instrumental Group. Vocal Instrumental Group, Individual Dance, Dance Group, Comedian and Novelty Act, This program serves as a feeder to the Soldier Show and USA Express. Call the CAC at 753-8825 for details.

Meet the Biggest Losers The top finishers in the 2011 Biggest Losers Contest will be honored Saturday at 1000 at the Super Gym, with the top three 2-person teams and top three individuals not a member of a winning team receiving GPS watches. The public is invited. Winners are determined by percentage of weight lost. Make some extra $$$ Be a Softball Umpire Soldiers, Civilians and Family Members can make some extra money this spring & summer as a Softball Umpire. The first step is attending the Mandatory Rules Clinic at 1000 Sunday at the Super Gym. No experience is necessary – just a desire to learn. Contact Kim, Chi-Hyon at 753-8811 for details.

FRGs, Units, Private Organizations can sign up for SpringFest Booths Family Readiness Groups, Units and Private Organizations are invited to reserve food booths for the May 28-29 SpringFest, planned for the area around Independence Park. The two day Festival will be along the lines of FreedomFest, with the gates open to the outside Korean community. In order to register just send your organization’s name, the name and telephone numbers of at least two contacts, E-mail addresses for all contacts and a brief description of what you want to sell at your booth to area3mwrmarketing@korea.army.mil. It is recommended that you not select “hamburgers and hot dogs” and look at other items such as chicken, ribs, tacos, spaghetti, ethnic food (other than Korean) and sweets. Each participant will receive a booth, canopy and 110-volt electrical outlet. Camp Humphreys does not have snow cone, cotton candy or popcorn machines available for use or rent, so they must be obtained from another source. Qualification tournaments for the All-Army On-Line Texas Hold’em Championships start at Tommy D’s Thursday, April 14. Contact Tommy D’s for more details.

The Sports Massage at the Super Gym has two new services – a 7-minute massage for $5 & 10 minutes for $7. Check it out ACS will help youngsters fill out their Summer Hire Applications on April 7. Call Phil Chang at 753-8321 for further information.
