Your chance may be this week. Auditions for the musical Honk will be held at the Community Activity Center Thursday and Friday (January 12 & 13.) Auditions are open to both adults and youth, and dozens of volunteers are needed as actors, singers, musicians, stage hands, prop designers, makeup artists, ushers and all the other jobs that go into staging a musical-theatre production. Please contact artistic director Lesa Craig at 0106705-5301 or Production Director Christi Mancha at christimancha@yahoo.com for further details. The show is planned for the end of March in the Community Activity Center. Honk is a musical adaptation of the Hans Christian Andersen story The Ugly Duckling, incorporating a message of tolerance. Aimed at Families, the musical is set in the countryside and features Ugly, a duckling who is rejected by everyone but his mother, Ida; a sly tomcat who wants to eat Ugly; and other barnyard creatures. It opened in Britain and has enjoyed success in Europe as well as Broadway.
