Week of January 17-24

WEEKLY Seh Heh Bok Mahn ee Bahd Euh Sae Yo Happy New Year to all our Korean employees The Lunar New Year arrives this coming weekend, turning Korean highways into gigantic parking lots as millions of people return to their ancestral homes to pay homage to their Families. One of Korea’s biggest holidays of the year, the actual Lunar period is Sunday through next Tuesday (Jan 22-24 with New Year’s Day Jan 23). But the traffic is expected to pick up Friday and continue through next Wednesday or beyond. Like the Chinese, the Koreans observe the Lunar Calendar and the 12 animals of the Lunar Zodiac. This upcoming year will be the Year of the Dragon. Gifts will be exchanged, people will visit the graves of their ancestors and everyone will become another year older. See the January Happenings for some interesting information about the Lunar New Year.

Win a Lunar Dragon and help build the future look of FMWR USAG-Humphreys Family & MWR has launched its annual Customer Satisfaction Survey and is looking for your input as well as giving away three stuffed Lunar Dragons. The Survey only takes about 5-minutes to complete and will be available from now through February 28. As an added incentive for you to complete the Survey, FMWR will be giving away three stuffed dragons in recognition of the Lunar Year of the Dragon. Go to “Surveymonkey.com/s/2012dragon” Once you complete the Survey, notify Marketing Chief Mike Mooney at Michael.mooney2@us.army.mil to be entered into the drawing which will take place February 29. The Survey is also available on the Humphreys and FMWR Marketing Facebook pages and on the Humphreys and MWR.com Web sites.
