Father-Daughter Dance Saturday The annual Father-Daughter Dance is scheduled for Tommy D’s this Saturday from 1800-2000. The annual event is a chance for Dads and Daughters to bond and includes dancing, food, contests, door prizes and lots of fun. It’s a dress-up affair. Dads are $10 each and all accompanying daughters are free. This year’s dance is sponsored by the American Women’s Club Thrift Shop Association (AWCTSA) and the Camp Humphreys Branch of the Community Bank. Pay at the door.
Pro-Baseball trip this Sunday to see Eagles \
Adults and Youth will travel to Daejon Sunday to watch the Hanwha Eagles in action against the Nexen Heroes in Korean Professional Baseball. Youth Sports is putting the trip together, and the cost is $15 for Adults and $10 for Kids. The price includes round-trip transportation and tickets to the game. Hanwha is one of eight teams in the Korean Professional League and features former Major League pitcher Chan Ho Park, who spent 17 years in the Majors and is the winningest Asian pitcher in Major League history. Paintball Tournament at new course this Saturday Paintball returns to Camp Humphreys Saturday with a team tournament planned for the new Paintball Course located in the exercise area adjacent to Zoeckler Station. Entry is $125 per 5-person team. Registration starts at 1000, with Safety Briefing at 1030 and Competition commencing at 1100. The entry fee includes guns, paintballs and safety equipment. Registration for the annual Camp Adventure Day Camp for children in the first through the fifth grade is now open. The series of themed weekly camps start June 18. Most weeks include a field trip along with many other activities such as bowling, swimming and more. Camp fees are determined by Total Family Income. BOSS BEACH BLAST will be held at Daecheon Beach June 1517, and while the registration deadline has already passed, you can contact your Unit BOSS Rep or call 753-8970 in case any spots have opened through cancellation.
VOLUNTEER RECOGNITION – The annual Volunteer Recognition Ceremony is scheduled for the Camp Humphreys Community Activity Center on Friday, June 29. All Community Volunteers will be recognized, along with the Volunteers of the year. The American Women’s Club Thrift Shop Association (AWCTSA) is helping sponsor this year’s event.
YEOSU EXPO – Discover Seoul, temporarily located in the Humphreys Lodge Business Center, has a limited number of tickets available to the Yeosu Expo on Friday, June 22. Unfortunately, people will have to find their own way to Seoul. The cost is $125 for adults and $95 for children and includes round-trip Bullet Train, Entrance and an English-Speaking Guide. CAC REOPENING – The Camp Humphreys Community Activity Center is expected to reopen June 19, but the formal reopening will be held Friday, June 29, before the Volunteer Recognition Ceremony. The CAC has been closed for the installation of a Geothermal heating and cooling system, making the CAC one of the first buildings in the Army to be heated and cooled through Geothermal energy.
TRIATHLON – Reservations are now being accepted for the Summer Triathlon scheduled for Splish & Splash Water Park on Saturday, June 23. This is an Individual or Team event with a 400meter Swim, 20K Bike Ride and 5K Run. Register at any gym or by calling 753-8031 (031-690-8031).
