How does it work? What is the HIRED! Program? It’s a Child, Youth, and School Services program that offers apprentice positions to teens to provide handson work experience on their career fields of interest or get a chance to simply explore other career paths. It aims to provide Army teens with the right skills to make them competitive in the job market.
The teen chooses an FMWR organization that suits his/her interest. An interview is scheduled, and a placement is then determined. Once in place, the apprentice is expected to commit no less than 15 hours a week for a total of 180 hours for the entire term. Upon completion of each term, the apprentice receives a stipend. Two terms are allowed for 3 consecutive years. Stop by the YS to find out more about the hired! Program and to inquire about upcoming session dates.
