Ground Breaking for the $22 million Conference & Dining Center located in the area of the Camp Humphreys Lodge, CAC and Gas Station will be held at 1400 Wednesday, May 16, and everyone is invited to participate.

No Food or Beverages Can Be Brought into the Water Park Except Baby Items ALL BAGS SUBJECT TO SEARCH

The new facility is due to open in July 2014 and includes restaurants, conference and banquet facilities, decks, fountains, outdoor decks, an

amphitheater, atrium and much more. Food will be available at the Ground Breaking.

Mother-Son Dance this Saturday at Tommy D’s The annual Mother-Son Dance at Tommy D’s is scheduled for 1800-2000 this Saturday, May 19. Moms are $10 and sons are free. There will be finger food (while it lasts), contests, dancing and lots of fun. Contact Patrina Tremel, CYSS Outreach Director, at 753-8274 or Yeji Smith, Parent Central Admin, 753-3413 for more information. There will be no sign-ups. Patrons can just show up and pay at the door.


Biggest Losers, Aerobithon Saturday

News of note … RUNNERS ARE ENCOURAGED to participate in the AK Plaza 5mile Fun Run offered by Health Promotion this Saturday. The run starts at the Walk-Thru gate at 0800. Bring Korean won for food and your bus ride back. Contact Dave Elger at 753-3253 (031-690-3253) for more information. Family & MWR has been forced to cancel the planned Memorial Day Run because of construction on Perimeter Road. The next FMWR Run is the Firecracker 5 & 10K on Independence Day.

The Awards Ceremony for the 2012 Biggest Losers Contest kicks off the Army in Korea Aerobithon at 1100 Saturday at the Super Gym. The top three 2-person teams and top 3 individuals not a member of a top three team will be recognized. That will be followed by the Aerobithon. Call 753-8031 for additional information.

BOSS BEACH BLAST – Make your reservations for the June 15-17 BOSS Beach Blast at the Super Gym through your Unit BOSS representative or at Outdoor Rec. Cost is $150 per person which includes round-trip transportation, hotel, some food and activities. This event is restricted to single Soldiers. Call 753-8970 (031-6908970) for more information. COMMUNITY ACTIVITY CENTER – The Community Activity Center at Camp Humphreys is closed through mid-June because of the installation of the new Geothermal heating and cooling system. Officials estimate the CAC will reopen on or about June 19. Meanwhile, BOSS has relocated to the Super Gym and Discover Seoul has relocated to the Business Center at the Camp Humphreys Lodge. See the May Happenings for alternate locations for meetings and unit functions. BEST VOCALS AT THE HUMP -- Tommy D’s seven week Best Vocals at the Hump Contest continues this Wednesday at 2000. The Finals have been moved to May 23 because of the Reggae band "Mystic Roots Concert this Wednesday, May 16. The contest is open to everyone except previous Operation Rising Star winners. Call 7537532/8191. YOUTH DECIDE Forum and Dance will be held May 26. This is a special activity for students in the sixth through 12th grades, and all eligible students are strongly encouraged to attend. Mark it on your calendar. FMWR Survey -- Have you completed your FMWR Survey yet? Individuals who received an invitation to complete the Survey are encouraged to return it as soon as possible.
