5 THINGS YOU MUST DO GENEROUSLY TO MAKE YOUR MARRIAGE TANTALISING AND EXTREMELY ROMANTIC Here, I want to open your eyes to five critical things you need to do to make your marriage great, joyful and peaceful. If your marriage must be exceptional, it needs the following: 1. LOTS OF PRAYERS: Yes, you must connect your marriage to God constantly and his mercy in prayers. “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. ” Hebrews 4:16 (KJV) Your marriage needs prayers. Pray like a winner; pray like a warrior for the enemy of your soul does not want your marriage to work. 2. LOTS OF LOVE (Kindness and Patience): “Let brotherly love continue.” Hebrews 13:1 (KJV

Touching your spouse brings up feelings of safety, comfort, love, playfulness, titillation, and more. Couples who are physically intimate report a higher rate of relationship satisfaction. When partners engage one another with physical touching, sexual or otherwise, it makes them feel cared about, loved and connected. Touching each other strengthens the bond between two people and fosters closeness, affection and love between couples. It is a major binder that helps couples iron out the differences between them. Touching or physical intimacy builds a stronger connection between two people by mitigating any existing negativity. Oxytocin, a hormone and a neurotransmitter that is released during the intimate moments between the couples enhances trust and a stronger sense of companionship between couples. 4. LOTS OF TALKING: Deep and effective communication is one thing your marriage needs. You can never over talk in

Bad sexual communication is an offshoot of bad communication in marriage. The problem is, couples don’t talk, and most live as total strangers. They hardly talk. To improve your marriage, improve your sex life, to improve your sex life you need to improve how you talk about sex in your marriage. If you avoid talking about sex in your marriage, you may end up with a bedroom frustration that will hurt your marriage dearly.

Couples should endeavour to first improve communication in their marriages as this will help to improve sexual communication. In this edition and the next one, I will open your eyes to how to talk rightly about sex in your marriage. Couples are known to have their communication at five

different levels which includes: - Zero level:- Couples at this level don’t talk at all. They act like sworn enemies. They don’t see eye to eye, no love, no romance, no affection. Of course, you should know that their sexual communication will be at zero level. - Outer level:- At this level, couples do only talk about other people and issues that do not really concern them. They talk about friends, children, neighbours, colleagues, boss, teacher, landlord, food, electricity bill, house rent, business etc. The discussion will not involve the couple themselves, but rather on other things. Couples that relate at this level are many as it only makes them neighbours or distant friends. They do have bad sexual communication as they are far from talking about their sex life. - Inner level: - Couples are not just talking about others or issues. In addition to that, they are talking about themselves, their jobs, plans, likes, dislikes, needs, problems, joy, happenings at work and at home, etc. This is a healthy development as it will allow them to understand themselves better and will eliminate quarrels to a great extent and will even bring them closer and make their marriages enjoyable. But we need to realise that couples at this level are not talking about their sex life yet. If at all they do it, it will only happen when they have conflict and misunderstanding about it, but on a

normal day, it is unlike couples at the inner level of communication to talk about sex. - Sanctuary level:- This is a level where couples are not just talking about others or about themselves, they are more intimate now, talking about their feelings, joy, goals, vision, reservations, fear, sadness, pain, apprehension, fantasies, romantic aspiration and sexual dreams. Couples at this level, are not just husbands and wives, they are lovers. They are intimate friends. They are talking about what other parties can never know except they tell each other, this level determines how we act and react to each other and issues, hence, determines about 90 percent of the success of any marriage. If your marriage has not got to this level, you need to improve by talking freely, easily and intimately. Do not shy away from talking about your sex life. It is good for you and your marriage. We had our own share of battles that we fought together through God, is the battles of losing the roof of our house the day our first child was three years old and became homeless for about a month, or the loss of my younger brother and my father within a month interval, loss of my father-inlaw when it was least expected. Sickness of our daughter that needed urgent surgery, or my leg that needed to be operated upon with our annual Couples Conference a few days away. We overcame all these because we stood together, cry together, rejoice together and won together. It is a great lesson, you can’t win your war when you fight alone or fight each other. 15: A HOME NEED A

Two years into our marriage my father-in-law, we fondly call him baba Akede suddenly showed up one day in my house, he drove all the way from Oshogbo to see me. Later that night he took me out personally to discuss with me, he asked me. When are you moving into your own house? The question was not expected at all as we just got married and trying to settle down, the talk of building or buying a house was not there at all. The old man made me know that a home is not existing without a house.
