welcome to bryn mawr vineyards
We are honored to once again share our home with Family Building Blocks and Uncorked for the third year.
At Bryn Mawr Vineyards, we focus on sustainability. LIVE certifcation embodies this focus—sustaining native habitat, watershed quality, and wildlife; applying and following worker health and safety standards, and good neighbor policies; and creating a healthy, vibrant community that actively works to improve the quality of the natural environment in which we live and work.
The concept of sustainability is equally applicable to the premise of Uncorked; creating sustainable families through the work of Family Building Blocks, which in turn creates sustainable communities that contribute to a sustainable Earth. And this brings us full circle to the sustainable vineyard!
If ever there was a time to invest in our families and our community, it is now. The mission of Family Building Blocks has never been more applicable to our world: “Keeping Children Safe and Families Together.”
Keeping the mission of Family Building Blocks top of mind, we invite you to take in the breathtaking views as you enjoy wonderful food and wine, inspiring works of art, and the community of friendship at this wonderful annual event.
Cheers!

Andante Vineyard fourishes in the heart of the Willamette Valley, just west of Salem. Our 42-acre property includes the estate vineyard planted with pinot noir, chardonnay, sauvignon blanc, gamay, aligoté, and marsanne vines. Andante wines are made in our estate winery, surrounded by vines thriving on marine sedimentary soil. Pacifc breezes fowing through the Van Duzer Corridor let our grapes ripen in summer sunshine until they reach the optimum balance of fruitiness, acidity, and tannins. Guests in our tasting room receive friendly and knowledgeable wine service, as well as curated food pairings from our talented chef and kitchen staff.
We are a family-owned and operated vineyard and winery. Our founders are Joe Allan and Karen Saul, who are fortunate to work with a team of experienced people who share our values: to farm with care using sustainable methods, make artisanal, balanced wines in small lots that delight the senses and lift spirits, and offer warm hospitality and a place where guests can relax and enjoy gorgeous views in a calming atmosphere.
Our name, Andante, is a musical term: it is a walking pace tempo and that is how we try to live and work here. It allows us to be intentional and concentrate on how to provide the best wine, food, and overall experience to our guests. We chose the image of a great egret as our logo to emphasize our stewardship of the land we farm and celebrate the awesome resilience of nature.
We invite you to visit us in our new tasting room this summer. We also seat guests on our beautiful patio with breathtaking views of rolling farmland, a sky full of birds, the coastal range to the west, and the Eola-Amity Hills to the east. We are open by reservation to ensure that everyone enjoys the best possible experience each time they come.

2021 Aligoté
Brilliant gold in color with notes of white citrus fower, allspice, sugar cookie and lemon zest. The approach is bright and the palate boasts of kumquat, mandarin, and white peach. The fnish is long and round with hints of stone fruit and triple-sec.
2020 Estate Pinot Noir
Deep garnet in color with fragrant aromas of strawberry and raspberry jam, and fresh blackberries. Secondary aromas of clove, bergamot, and wild herbs play in the background and on the palate. The intense freshness of cranberry and pomegranate follow until the midpalate. The fnish is juicy with delicate tannins that coat the mouth.
2021 Sauvignon Blanc
Reminiscent of the tropics and pale straw in color. The approach is vibrant with aromas of passion fruit, lemon zest, and honeydew melon. On the palette hints of Meyer lemon and wet stones are quickly followed with a bright and refreshing fnish.

winery
Our family purchased Bryn Mawr Vineyards as a tiny garagiste winery in 2009. With a four-acre foundation of established Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Tempranillo vines, we partnered with winemaker Rachel Rose to diversify the site, adding Pinot Blanc, Dolcetto and Riesling vines among many new clones of the regional standards.
For the frst eight vintages, Rachel made wine in our basement and a former wedding tent. In 2018, we completed our new winery building, followed by a new tasting room in 2019. Our contemporary facilities have allowed us to bloom into a premier operation, with a diverse array of impressive wines offered in visually stunning surroundings. In 2020, we gained LIVE certifcation, demonstrating our commitment to long-term sustainability both in the vineyard and in our cellar. The last decade has brought national recognition for Bryn Mawr’s Pinot Noir and Chardonnay programs, but it’s Rachel’s progressive and experimental side that has made us a destination. Acting as an important bridge, Bryn Mawr honors the classic wines that make the Willamette Valley world-renowned, while also pushing the envelope, defning what is possible in our future.
Our 26 acre LIVE certifed estate vineyard refects a marriage of powerful maritime winds and ancient weathered basalt that creates wines with distinct character. We farm our site at the highest standards of sustainability to ensure our site’s maximum longevity and intensity of expression.
Our family has been joined by a cadre of playful and tenacious folks who help power Bryn Mawr. Follow the link below to discover the amazing people fundamental to our winery’s growth and success.

NV Brut Rosé
The Brut Rosé embodies our winemaking ethos, which is refusing to have just one! In many ways this wine refects centuries of practice, embracing winemaking traditions straight from Champagne to achieve a fresh and elegant base. However, when it comes time to bottle, we use high-tech equipment and modern biochemistry to achieve the perfect level of carbonation. The result is an elegant and refreshing sparkling wine that punches high above its weight class, with bracing acidity, a persistent and delicate bead, and a fnish that tiptoes the line between crisp and savory notes.
2021 Estate Pinot Noir
The Estate Pinot Noir is our fagship wine, a transparent expression of time and place that captures the essence of our high-elevation vineyard. Drenched in sun, battered by wind, and anchored into bedrock, our vines are pushed to their extremes, yielding tightly-packed clusters that demand to be made into powerfully structured wines. Upon picking, these grapes are brought to the winery and given utmost respect, with limited use of new oak and sulfur throughout vinifcation and aging. Our range of elevations, aspects, ages, and clones allow us to craft a complete Pinot Noir that captures the raw energy of our challenging yet superlative estate vineyard.

winery
Cória Estates is a Mexican-American Family-Owned Vineyard and Winery in South Salem, Oregon. They have been growing grapes for over 20 years in the Heart of the Willamette Valley.
The whole family is involved in what makes Cória Estates a thriving vineyard and winery. Owners, Luis and Janice Coria, manage the vineyard and administrative side of the business, and their youngest daughter, Aurora, is the Winemaker. Their eldest daughter Elizabeth helps on the side of her professional job as a Speech & Language Pathologist. Elizabeth’s husband, Tyler, handles the winery’s creative and marketing programs and is a big part of the business’s brand management.
Their Estate vineyard consists of roughly 100 acres, planted in various years. The most mature section was planted in the spring of 1999, beginning with 55 acres. This planting was done by hand by the Coria’s own family and crew, consisting of approximately 50% Pinot noir and 50% Pinot Gris. In the following years the family grew the vineyard in stages including plantings of Chardonnay, Riesling, Viognier and additional Pinot gris and Pinot noir.
The Cória Estates wine program began in 2013, producing small lot wines that drive the expression of vineyard and vintage. Aurora focuses on mainly Estate grown Pinot Noir, complementing the program with small lots of outsourced warm climate varietals.
Cória Estates invites you to experience a bit of Mexican ambience while you are surrounded by hand crafted stone architecture and whispering palm trees. Their tasting room offers breathtaking panoramic views of the estate vineyard and the Willamette Valley. Their tasting room is open daily from 12–6pm.

At Illahe, our goal is to grow and produce quality pinot noir and white wines that express the sense of place, vintage, and true varietal characteristics with minimal intervention. We work by hand on small lots with age-old techniques and materials. Some of our wines are made entirely by hand, with no electricity or modern mechanization. We utilize draft horses in the vineyard as well as a bicycle pump and destemmer to craft our 1899 Pinot Noir. Illahe is a sustainable, LIVE-certifed, Salmon Safe, dry farmed vineyard, and a member of the Deep Roots Coalition.
The Fords enjoy working together as a family to make sustainable, handcrafted wines from their estate vineyard. They are farmers at heart and enjoy being close to nature through their grapes, watching the seasons change the landscape around them and each vintage change the wines in the bottle.
Enjoy our beautiful views and a fight of 6 wines as well as wines available for purchase by the glass and bottle. Snacks are available for purchase and picnics are welcome. We are family friendly and welcome our four-legged friends on the patio and deck.

2021 Bon Sauvage Pinot Noir
In 2021 we had rainstorm during bloom in June that made our crop yield a little lower than anticipated. We also had record breaking high temperatures one weekend this Summer for the Willamette Valley. Thankfully these heat spikes were short lived and by the Fall temperatures were very mild. We had no rain during harvest, allowing optimal ripening and favor development. 2021 is turning out to be a great complex vintage.
This pinot is 100% estate grown. It is a barrel selection of Brad and Nathan’s favorite barrels in the cellar. The Bon Sauvage is always a little more earth and spice-driven in character. This pinot is 100% native fermentation and macerates for 24 days before being pressed in our wood basket press. It then ages for 16 months in barrel before bottling. This vintage is showing notes of bright red cherry, cola, graham cracker crust, espresso dust, orange peel, and coastal cabin aromas of salt and rock, with gripping acidity, baking spice and a velvety fnish. Ages in 25% new french oak, for 17 months. Cases produced: 1300.
2023 Tempranillo Rosé
In the vineyard, we started out with warm weather beginning almost exactly in June, when we had thirsty little plants at the new vineyard house vineyard. Luckily we got water to our babies because the summer, without any long heat spikes, was still one of the warmest average summers in years with very little rain. When harvest came around, we did get a few days of rain, but luckily we had enough stored sun to be able to pick a little before and a little after and still receive beautiful grapes.
100% tempranillo, picked early for acidity. The grapes are immediately pressed whole-cluster with no cold-soak period. Fermentation takes place in French oak and acacia barrels in addition to stainless-steel tanks. The vintages continue to be good to this wine. With an early pick date and gentle, whole-cluster pressing, we are able to get light color and vibrant aromatics. As it ages in neutral oak and acacia barrels, the mouthfeel softens while retaining acidity. After a minute, the coral pink wine smells like strawberries, tangerines, and freshly made Danishes. Cases produced: 960. Harvest dates: 9/20-10/4/23.

Joe Dobbes started his career in the wine industry in 1985 in Germany. Iterum Wines was founded in 2019 by winemaker, Joe Dobbes, and wife Patricia Dobbes. This new wine project represents a full circle winemaking story and celebrates the crescendo of Joe’s lengthy career in the Willamette Valley wine industry.
In 2017 Joe found himself ready for a reset and stepped back from his original wine project, Dobbes Family Estate and Wine by Joe. He took two years off from winemaking, tasted through his peers’ wines and revisited my own wine portfolio dating back to the start of his career in the mid-80s. After refecting on more than three decades in the industry, it became clear to Joe that it was time to go full circle, and to get small again. In 2018 Joe and his wife Patricia purchased their dream property, Orchard House Vineyard west of Salem, Oregon.
The organically farmed 21-acre estate, located on the west slope of the Eola-Amity Hills wine growing region, is now home to Iterum. The Latin word Iterum translates to, again, afresh, or once more.
The Iterum portfolio includes Estate Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Methode Traditionnelle Sparkling Wines. Also included in the portfolio are a handful of special, limited bottlings named, ‘Old Friends,’ truly exceptional vineyards, varietals, and clones Joe has worked with over the years now reappearing in his cellar.

2021 Orchard House Estate Chardonnay, Eola-Amity Hills AVA
“An exceptional Willamette Valley expression.” The third bottling of Chardonnay was crafted from Iterum’s organically farmed home estate in the Eola-Amity Hills. Chardonnay Clones 548, and 76 were planted in 2016 at 550 feet elevation facing southwest to the coastal Van Duzer Corridor winds. Extraordinarily little malolactic fermentation was allowed with the intention of preserving the fresh acidity and a low(er) pH leading to higher fruit tones. The wine illustrates fresh and explosive aromas of lemon curd, vanilla, wet stone, brioche, kaffr lime, and green apple with favors mirroring the aromas with a long, clean, finty fnish. Flavors are well integrated with light barrel spices from fermentation in 37% new wood, 25% new French oak, and 12% new Acacia barrels. Barrel aged for 11 months followed by 6 months in stainless steel prior to bottling. Harvested 9.24.21. 220 cases produced.
2021 Eola Bench Pinot Noir, Eola-Amity Hills AVA
“A blend of what I call the “90210 of vineyards” in the Eola-Amity Hills AVA, the Eola Bench.” Joe coined the term “Eola Bench” in reference to the “sweet spot” running north and south, located in the center of the western slope of the Eola-Amity Hills. The Eola-Bench Pinot Noir is a blend comprising 66% from our Orchard House Vineyard clones 114, 115 fermented with 15% whole clusters and 34% from Eola Springs Vineyard clone 667 located down the hill from our estate. This showy, second vintagebottling blend, displays explosive and sweet aromas of black cherry, raspberry, clove, blueberries, and cola. Plush and sweet tannins envelope the tongue leading to a long, soft, and velvety fnish. Fermentation regime includes a 6-day pre-fermentation cold soak followed by fermentation in the mid-eighties Fahrenheit with advance intent of full extraction of fruit favors and focus on sweet grape tannins and avoidance of rough, or bitter tannins extracted at higher temperatures. Barrel aged for 17 months in 33% new French oak before bottling without fning or fltration. 76 cases produced.
2023 ‘Old Friend’ Oak Grove Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc, Eola-Amity Hills AVA
“An exceptional statement of the varietal.” Joe frst worked with Oak Grove Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc in 1989 at Eola-Hills Wine Cellars when he shared a vintage with Winemaker at the time, Ken Wright. Joe loved the wine he crafted from this vineyard. He always remembered it as something exceptional, and a varietal that he stated would one day be recognized as world class within the Willamette Valley. Fast forward 32 years and Joe has re-connected with the same vineyard, but now under the Iterum Wines moniker, ‘Old Friend’. The 2023 ‘Old Friend’ Oak Grove Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc did not go through malolactic fermentation with intentions of preserving the acidity and high fruit tones. Fermentation was done in 50% stainless steel and 50% barrel of which 25% was new Acacia. Aged 7 months prior to bottling. 125 cases produced.

2022 Pinot Gris
A sleek and lively wine with layers of Apricot, Kiwi, & grapefruit braced by a minerally stony core. The wine fnishes with citrus notes.
2022 Estate Pinot Noir
This Pinot Noir is a classic embodiment of our vineyard’s unique personality. Flavors of ripe raspberry, cranberry, and plump cherries burst forth, offering a bright explosion of red fruit that is both juicy and refreshing. The underlying earthiness round out this wine.
2022 Cabernet Franc Wahluke Slope, WA - This is a wine that stands out for its unique favor and memorable fnish. Jammy pomegranate takes the lead, offering a burst of sweet and tangy fruit that is rich and inviting. Hints of walnuts add texture and dimension, contributing depth and complexity to the wine.

Peter Rosback, Sineann owner, began making wine long before going commercial. He was a member of the powerhouse non-commercial winemaking club, West Side Wine Club, which gave rise to a number of commercial wineries, including Raptor Ridge, Freya, Parrett Mountain, and others. Sineann’s frst release was in 1994, and Old Vine Zinfandel from the oldest surviving vineyard in the Pacifc Northwest, owned by Lonnie Wright, whose own label is The Pines.
Since then, Sineann has consistently been active in producing wines from both sides of the Cascade Mountains, and the Columbia Gorge. West side wines include mainly Pinot Noir, and at one time, Gewurtztraminer, and Riesling. From the Columbia Gorge AVA, Sineann produces Gruner Veltliner, and Pinot Gris. From around The Dalles and the Horse Heaven Hills, the portfolio includes the Old Vine Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Orange Muscat, and has included Petite Verdot, and Sauvignon Blanc.
In addition, in 2007, Peter began traveling to New Zealand to make wine. He began in Marlborough, producing Sauvignon Blanc from the Auntiedale Vineyard and also made Pinot Noir from McGinlay’s Vineyard. In 2011, he shifted the Pinot Noir vineyard source to Pisa Terrace Vineyard, in Central Otago. The wines were produced in New Zealand, bottled there, and shipped to the US on a container ship in refrigerated containers. In 2018, Pisa Terrace Vineyard sold, and that was the last vintage of pinot from New Zealand. After the 2019 harvest, non-citizens were quarantined from New Zealand, and that was the last Sauvignon Blanc vintage.
Sineann’s wide ranging lineup is a tribute to the period of the 1970’a and 80’s, when wineries were not as fnely focused on Pinot Noir. The diverse climates and AVA’s of the Pacifc Northwest offer a wide range of opportunities to produce wines from both cooler and warmer climate grapes. Sineann purchases from top vineyards, but has none of its own. There are some perils to this, but Peter Rosback has always found a suitable replacement of top quality, and has not missed a beat. Our style of winemaking is quite distinctive, and has received critical acclaim from a wide number of very highly regarded sources.

2022 White Pinot Noir
Made from our Pinot Noir picked at the peak of ripeness and immediately gently pressed to release free-run juice without color or tannins from the skins. The juice was fermented and aged on its lees in stainless steel tanks and neutral French oak. This produced a wine that expresses both red and white wine characteristics − creaminess, rich mid-palate, bright aromas and favors with balanced acidity.
2022 Dijon Clone Pinot Noir
The stylistic vision is pure Pinot Noir fruit with a soft, juicy mouthfeel, balanced oak and soft, sweet, ripe tannins. The methodology includes attention to detail from vineyard to bottle. Picked at peak ripeness, the fruit was gently destemmed, with approximately 90% of the berries remaining intact for intra-berry fermentation, which adds lively fruit-forward characteristics. Prior to fermentation, the must underwent a fve-day pre-fermentation cold soak providing improved complexity, color and mouthfeel. On the ffth day, the must was inoculated with commercial yeast. After 8-12 days of fermentation in small fermenters, punched down by hand, the must was pressed out and allowed to settle in the tank overnight. The wine then underwent malolactic fermentation to impart a softer mouthfeel.
2021 Pere Ami
All the fruit was gently destemmed and sorted into open top fermenters with 80% whole berries. A fve-day cold soak under controlled temperatures took place, after which the individual lots were inoculated with selected commercial yeasts. Fermentation bins were punched down twice daily, with temperatures never reaching above 80° F. After 21 days of maceration, each lot was pressed and allowed to settle in the tank before going to the barrel to undergo malolactic fermentation. The wine was aged in 228-liter French oak barrels for 19 months; 19% of these barrels were new. This 2018 vintage is a blend of 48% Syrah, 19% Tempranillo, 19% Zinfandel and 13% Grenache.

Sparky’s Brewing Company is owned and operated by the Baker family in Salem, Oregon. Sparky’s frst opened their doors in February of 2014 as a homebrew supply store offering 30 taps of craft beer and cider. This derived from Monte’s love of homebrewing and the name Sparky’s comes from his day job. Monte is an electrical contractor and electricians are often called, “Sparky.”
Sparky’s has evolved from its original business model. In 2016, they put in a kitchen, becoming a restaurant in addition to selling homebrew supplies. Monte passed his love of homebrewing on to Dustin, his son, who shared Monte’s dream of brewing onsite. They began contract brewing, where they brewed using other breweries’ equipment as they navigated the licensing process. They recently received federal approval for their brewery license and welcomed Dustin along with Gary Paul as their brewers. ITEM PICKUP AND SHIPPING
1. Purchases must be picked up by the purchaser prior to leaving the venue at the conclusion of the Auction. Buyers can review a receipt listing or their purchases upon checkout. After reviewing and approving the receipt, they will pick up their items. Receipts will be e-mailed that evening upon checkout to the e-mail address provided by the bidder.
2. Extremely large purchases or heavy items may be scheduled for pick-up or delivery. Please contact Family Building Blocks at 503.566.2132.
3. Any item(s) not removed from the venue by the above time will be held for three (3) weeks at Family Building Blocks, 2425 Lancaster Dr NE, Salem, OR 97305. Family Building Blocks will make an attempt to contact the winning bidder. If the bidder fails to retrieve the item(s) in question by the end of the three week period, Family Building Blocks will assume the bidder has abandoned the property and relinquished it to Family Building Blocks, treat the bidder’s payment as a straight donation to Family Building Blocks, and seek to make other use of the item(s) that the bidder has abandoned.

TRAVEL PACKAGE STIPULATIONS
Before bidding, please read carefully the following conditions of purchase for all travel packages. Travel packages sold through the Auction contain only those elements listed in the auction lot description.
1. Air travel must not be interrupted. Airfare is to be booked point-to-point. Any changes or additions to travel will be at the buyer’s expense. This condition also applies to rental cars or other ground transportation not included in the Auction lot description.
2. Expiration dates are NOT fexible. Expiration dates have been carefully selected by the donors involved. To request an extension beyond the expiration date could place undue burden on the donor and jeopardize future donations to the Auction.
3. All reservations including air, rental cars, and lodging, must be made within dates specifed in supporting documentation and as contained in the Auction package.
4. Once a trip is scheduled and confrmed by the buyers, changes may not be allowed by the donors. If a donor is unable to accommodate requests to reschedule or if a requested change results in a donor being unable to honor all components of the trip, Family Building Blocks/Uncorked Wine Auction will NOT refund any portion of the trip purchase.
5. Some trip features or amenities may have to be paid by the buyers at the time of use. Such expenditures will NOT be reimbursed unless specifcally listed in the Auction item description as qualifed for reimbursement by the Auction.
6. PLEASE NOTE: If a buyer donates a travel package purchased at the Auction to another charity, or it is resold to another person, bidder assumes ALL risk. Family Building Blocks/Uncorked Wine Auction will not be responsible for honoring any elements contained in travel packages purchased outside the Auction.
Family Building Blocks is classifed as a tax-exempt corporation (Tax ID Number is 93-1233373) under the Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3).
