dressing up & role play are good for kids!

Deciding what to wear and the role play that follows stretches your child’s imagination and will often relect their own experiences and what they see around them.

Great practice for young children to get dressed and use zips and buttons etc

It encourages new vocabulary and conversation as they tell stories and interact with other children and adults

Through role play children can express their feelings and become more aware of the feelings of others which encourages them to empathise with others.

Dramatic play initially enables children to recall what they have seen and make decisions on how to re-enact it but will encourage older children to imagine new situations, scenarios and plays. Children can benefit from teamwork and increased confidence and self expression.

It’s FUN and great for children to escape sometimes and become a pirate, princess, super hero or just a mini adult!! Scour the charity shops, add some things of your own and fill a special box for them to rummage in!
