It’s simple: $20.17 buys you four lattes at Starbucks, lunch for two days at the office or a night at the movies. That same $20.17 provides a meal for a struggling family, diapers for grandparents raising their grandchildren or a bonding activity for a family using our Family Life Center.

“Faces of Hope” is a benefit for our neighbors in greatest need – children and families facing hardship, struggling to obtain housing, employment and access to basic services.

Dealing with Holiday Stress As fun and joyful as it can be, the holiday season often comes with stress, anxiety and depression for various reasons. With some practical tips, you can minimize the negative feelings and enjoy the holidays more than you expected! 1. Acknowledge your feelings. If someone close to you recently passed away or you can't be with loved ones, know that it's normal to feel grief. Allow yourself to express your feelings. 2. Reach out. If you feel lonely or isolated, seek out close friends, community, religious or other social organizations. They can offer the support you need. 3. Stick to a budget. Before you go gift and food shopping, decide how much money you can afford to spend, then stick to your budget. This reduces stress and anxiety. 4. Embrace healthy habits. Don't let the holidays become a free-for-all. Overindulgence adds to stress and guilt. 5. Ask for help. Despite your best efforts, you may find yourself consistently feeling sad or stressed. If these feelings last, talk to your doctor or a mental health professional.
