School Goals
State Goals
Safe & Welcoming Environment
At Harvey Clarke our goals are to nurture the whole child. Each child is immersed in a rigorous and relevant academic program. Student progress is monitored three times yearly with benchmark assessments. Teachers and specialists use this information to inform our practices to ensure the success of each child.
The Oregon Department of Education is partnering with school districts and local communities to ensure a 90% ontime, four year graduation rate by 2025. To progress toward this goal, the state will prioritize efforts to improve attendance, provide a well-rounded education, invest in implementing culturally responsive practices, and promote continuous improvement to close opportunity and achievement gaps for historically and currently underserved students.
At Harvey Clarke we recognize the diversity and worth of all students, individuals and groups, and are committed to both educating and providing a safe and inclusive environment for everyone, regardless of their immigration status, race, color, religion or any other basis. Teachers create learning experiences to help students understand the gifts all students bring to the classroom and school community.

PARENT ENGAGEMENT
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
Forest Grove School District recognizes the need to ensure the safety of all of our students. In an effort to ensure safety for all, the following practices are in place in all of our Pk-6 buildings: a) PBIS
Classes such as Art, Science, Math, Legos, or Foreign Language
b) PAX c) Trauma Informed Practices d) restorative practices and discipline. As a district we also have counseling lessons to address bullying and reporting as well as safe touch and personal space.
Onsite Daycare that provides supervision as well as many activities
Our staff understands the importance of having a school to home connection. At Harvey Clarke we have many opportunities for parents to volunteer in the classroom and outside the classroom. We need parents help for both academic and social events. We also work to keep our website up to date with the information on school and district events. Our PTO meets monthlyto discuss fundraising and school activities. Visit the school website for more details on meeting times and locations.
We partner with local organizations to bring learning to the outside world. Each year our students take field trips to local nature parks, theaters and the local library to learn more about the world outside our school and to inform students about what kind of activities are in their community. We work to find meaningful activities to allow students to give back to their community through food drives, clothing drives and sharing their work with others in the community through our annual art night and Maker Faire.
