Slight Seller's Advantage

The market has been cooling off a bit in recent weeks, as more homes are available and demand is less. However, the market is still notably in the Seller’s zone so we haven’t yet seen prices move lower as a result. It may take a few more weeks of slack demand for prices to reflect and begin to fall. Expect this condition if the index falls to the Buyer’s zone.

State Goals

Safe & Welcoming Environment

At Dundee Elementary our Vision Statement is “Empowering Excellence.” We are committed to ensuring all students succeed. We look forward to partnering with you to provide the best educational experience possible. We encourage parents to be an active part in their child’s education. Helping them with their homework, attending parent-teacher conferences, and volunteering at school are all ways you can be an integral part of your child’s education. We also encourage parents to make sure their students are at school every day and are here on time.

The Oregon Department of Education is partnering with school districts and local communities to ensure a 90% ontime, four year graduation rate by 2025. To progress toward this goal, the state will prioritize efforts to improve attendance, provide a well-rounded education, invest in implementing culturally responsive practices, and promote continuous improvement to close opportunity and achievement gaps for historically and currently underserved students.

Newberg schools strive to ensure all students and their parents feel welcome to our school by including bilingual staff in our school office. We provide multiple means of parent communication both through the classroom and the main office to help ensure all families are kept updated on school events. Student safety is our biggest priority which is why we have a closed campus when students are present. Additionally, all visitors are required to sign in through our Raptor system and wear identification while on school grounds.

About Our School BULLYING, HARASSMENT, AND SAFETY POLICIES

EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

Our school has outlined clear bullying, harassment, and safety policies to ensure our students have a learning environment conducive to learning. We encourage all reports of bullying to be brought to the attention of school staff immediately. Our school is also participating in the SAFE Oregon program, which allows anonymous bullying tips to be reported through the SAFE Oregon network. In addition to bullying prevention, our school safety plan utilizes the Standard Response Protocol system to ensure that all staff and students are trained on school safety policies and procedures.

School Goals

State Goals

Safe & Welcoming Environment

Students in middle school experience tremendous growth academically, socially, and emotionally over three years. Our Site Council has identified the following school goals: · Writing: All students will use the writing process to effectively develop and communicate perspective to an audience.

We believe that students learn best if they have a strong network of support. We know that we need to help students bridge the gaps that exist in their learning through intentional support. This includes: · A focus on positive relationships from adults to students.

· Reading: All students will use critical reading skills to comprehend complex text. · Mathematics: All students will demonstrate problem solving skills using mathematical thinking. · High School Readiness: Students will exhibit academic behaviors linked to college, career, and life.

School Website: www.newberg.k12.or.us/chehalemvalley

· Focusing on positive student behavior and a restorative approach to challenging behavior. · Actively teaching students how to identify and advocate for their own learning needs. · Meeting students’ basic needs of food, clothing and hygiene through our parent-run resource room.

About Our School BULLYING, HARASSMENT, AND SAFETY POLICIES

EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

PARENT ENGAGEMENT

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

Our school district has implemented consistent safety protocols. Entry points to the building are locked throughout the school day and all visitors sign in and out with office staff. Districtwide safety protocols guide conversations and drills throughout the school year. These drills include evacuation, earthquake, lock down and lock out procedures.

Newberg School District is fortunate to partner with the Chehalem Parks and Recreation District to support individual development through a full array of athletic and activity options after school. Chehalem Valley MS also offers a number of classes, activates and clubs supported by staff and community members including woodworking club, art club, gamers club and homework help.

Parent involvement is a critical foundation for increased student achievement and the development of a caring school culture. CVMS has a strong and supportive parent group that actively supports our staff and students. Regular monthly meetings are open to all parents and are presented in both English and Spanish. Parents are actively involved in our school through volunteer opportunities, special projects, fund-raising for resources and school-wide advisory and governance.

CVMS staff and students benefit from multiple community partnerships including: · George Fox University – student teacher placements, serve day projects, counseling and social work interns, Big Bruins mentorship. · Community Wellness Collective, Lutheran Community Services and Providence Mental Health – Providing student mental health and family support both within the school day and throughout the community. · Northwest Christian Church – After school opportunities for students through MyZone, school-improvement project donations, food donations. · Rotary International – Funding for various projects to improve student learning experiences · Ushio – Financial support for our Wadayama exchange program.

Staff work with students to proactively teach school-wide behavior expectations. All reports of bullying and harassment are investigated by school administrators. We encourage students to speak up and report bullying situations to teachers, counselors and administration. Students and staff are also trained on use of the SafeOregon reporting system, allowing for 24-7 anonymous reporting of potential safety concerns.

Data are suppressed to protect confidential student information.

Twice a year parents and family members are invited in for student conferences. Conferences focus on current academic progress, goal setting and relationship building.

School Goals

State Goals

Safe & Welcoming Environment

Newberg High School strives to meet the academic and social/emotional needs of all students by focusing on a guaranteed and viable curriculum, Professional Learning Community work, equitable access to programs, community partnerships, and family outreach. We place a heavy emphasis on attendance and have developed a series of interventions to re-engage students who are chronically absent. We’ve developed strong community partnerships with Newberg Providence and Yamhill County for student mental health support. We have collaborated with and received community support from local businesses to enhance our Career & Technical Education programs.

Ensuring that students feel safe and welcome at Newberg High School is paramount to our community. Our focus on a Culture of Care takes many forms and includes recognizing and rewarding students for academic and extracurricular achievements, training staff on early indicators of mental health concerns for students, and developing strategies as a staff to ensure that students have positive interactions with adults and strong connections with teachers in the classroom. Additionally, we train and practice safety protocols regularly and continuously look for areas of improvement to ensure that students are safe in emergency situations.
