The market has started cooling and prices have been flat for several weeks. Since we’re in the Seller’s zone, watch for changes in MAI. If the MAI resumes its climb, prices will likely follow suit. If the MAI drops consistently or falls into the Buyer’s zone, watch for downward pressure on prices.

School Goals

State Goals

Safe & Welcoming Environment

Mt View Elementary School is a positive and caring school community that puts student growth first.

The Oregon Department of Education is partnering with school districts and local communities to ensure a 90% ontime, four year graduation rate by 2025. To progress toward this goal, the state will prioritize efforts to improve attendance, provide a well-rounded education, invest in implementing culturally responsive practices, and promote continuous improvement to close opportunity and achievement gaps for historically and currently underserved students.

We encourage students to make positive behavior choices by implementing Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS). PBIS is a program designed to teach respect, responsibility, and safety at our school. Through instruction, comprehension and regular practice, all staff members will implement a consistent set of behavior expectations and rules. When some students respond in unexpected ways, we view it as an opportunity for re-teaching, not punishment.

At Mt. View we believe all students can learn and succeed, and we base our instruction on a balanced and comprehensive curriculum. We use the Response to Intervention process (RTI) along with informal and formal assessments to develop schoolwide and grade level goals to improve our students’ learning.

Our staff includes one school counselor.

State Goals

Safe & Welcoming Environment

· Improve overall passing rate of state math assessment.

· Adding additional electives along with clubs, activities and athletics is a way we try to create multiple places for our students to feel welcome and connected.

· Improve average RIT score of state math assessment. · Engage all students in their learning through the lens of equity. · Create an environment of respect and rapport between students and staff.

· Work with the district office communication specialist to research and implement best practices in effective parent/community communication. · Work with district, elementary feeders, and high schools to establish consistency around school websites and update ours on a consistent basis. · Research and create a school social media presence. · Proactively teach school expectations and re-teach them throughout the school year.

About Our School BULLYING, HARASSMENT, AND SAFETY POLICIES

EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

PARENT ENGAGEMENT

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

Our school follows the Standard Response Protocol, which is used across the district in cooperation with emergency services and local law enforcement. By following the same standards this helps students understand how to respond because the language and practice is the same from school to school. In addition, this helps substitutes and staff working in multiple buildings to be as prepared as possible if a safety situation occurs.

· Track and Field

Staff are always looking for opportunities to work with our community to enhance the learning for our students. This could be by volunteering in the classroom or on a field trip, speaking/presenting to a class, and/or inviting a group of students to visit their business/place of work.

We use assemblies, Advisor, Health Class and other classes, when the opportunity arises, to discuss bullying and harassment. Conversations start as large group (whole school assembly) and then work down from there (grade level assembly, single classroom, small groups, and then individual).

· Green Team

· Curriculum Night in September for administration to meet, present, and answer questions. Parents/Guardians have the opportunity to walk their students schedule and meet each of their teachers. · Conferences in fall and spring allow parents/guardians to sit down with each teacher to discuss student progress in classes. · CPTO (Cheldelin Parent and Teacher Organization) meets monthly to discuss opportunities to support the school. This is a great opportunity to engage and volunteer. · Elective Showcase Night at the end of first semester for students to display their various projects and performances developed throughout the classes.

Data are suppressed to protect confidential student information.

· Cross Country · Engineering Design (Science Olympiad) · Theater Productions · Choir · Band · Orchestra · CCTV

· Diversity Club · Garden Club · Pride Club · Zoology Club

Our staff works with various community groups to set up volunteer opportunities for our students whenever the opportunity is presented.

State Goals

Safe & Welcoming Environment

This school year we will continue with an 8-period bell schedule. In ninth grade, the 8-period schedule provides a “Freshman Success” class to help students stay on track. For sophomores and juniors, the 8-period schedule is an opportunity for students in an intervention class to also take their desired electives. Sophomores and juniors will also meet once a week in a graduation prep class to receive support with academic needs and career education requirements. For seniors, the 8-period schedule provides a senior seminar class that supports completing career education requirements and preparation for life after graduation.

CVHS is focused on building a positive school culture where every student, staff member, and parent feels included and valued. We will continue our “Paths 2 the Future” class that includes and supports students with disabilities in school and opportunities beyond school. We will also continue our “Raider Academic Prep” class with 9th and 10th grade students who need to make a positive connection with school. “Link Crew” connects our incoming freshmen with the school community.
