Safe & Welcoming Environment

Holcomb Elementary is a school where students, families, staff and community work in partnership to create a safe, inclusive, and equitable educational experience for each learner. Our strong focus on core academic instruction paired with social-emotional learning builds the foundation that students need to be successful. In addition our students participate in counseling, physical education, library, and music lessons.

The Oregon Department of Education is partnering with school districts and local communities to ensure a 90% ontime, four year graduation rate by 2025. To progress toward this goal, the state will prioritize efforts to improve attendance, provide a well-rounded education, invest in implementing culturally responsive practices, and promote continuous improvement to close opportunity and achievement gaps for historically and currently underserved students.

We strive to ensure all students and their families feel safe and welcome by embedding a focus on equity within all of our professional development offerings and school improvement efforts. We affirm the identity of each student, acknowledge and celebrate differences to create a sense of belonging for each student and promote unity. The physical safety and emotional well-being of all children in the District is paramount.

We will continue our work in engaging students in rigorous coursework at all levels, expanding our college-level course opportunities, and boosting our senior college-going rate.

Oregon City High School continues to work hard to create a positive, safe, and welcoming school where each student feels accepted for who they are. We continue to stress the importance of positive relationships between students and staff. Our Student Council has a Unity Committee that focuses on creating new school events that focus on inclusion and diversity. Our Equity Forum continues to provide students an avenue to come together to discuss race and equity topics at our school. We also have two school resource officers and two security staff members.
