LAST WORD

LetÕs linger here a while. . .

To linger can mean so much. Sometimes we link it with definitions that bring about negative connotations – such as taking a long time to do something, being slow and procrastinating. But let me tell you something; there’s nothing negative about lingering. We should take longer to do something. We should be slow – or rather slow down. And it’s absolutely fine to indulge in a little bit of procrastination every now and then. The glorification of busy is exhausting, so let’s allow ourselves to linger more. Our passionate parenting columnist, Christy Herselman of The Chat, digs deeper into this sweet gift and explains how it can give us a sense of belonging – on page 30.

Even though women’s month is over, we feel that women should be celebrated all year round. Our beautiful cover star, Londy Ngcobo, has an empowering background and a wonderful story to share. What she has achieved is encouraging, and her very own foundation, Global Maritime Youth, creates awareness and cultivates pure love for the ocean. As Londy puts it; “I strongly believe that above all accolades is our ability to educate.”

We also introduce you to Gabby Harris, whose journey in life I admit to be rather envious of. Gabby’s knowledge and experience with animal behaviour management is fascinating – and her tips on how to better relate to your dog are

so simple, yet so powerful.
