And therefore we designed a room escape game based on this movie. Displaying sections of the plot in different spaces with the AR and VR technique, we tried to provoke more thinking on what people take as granted and prompt people to form a more critical perspective in daily life.

Kabuki, as a unique theater art and traditional culture with a long history, enjoys a high social status in Japan. However, under the hereditary inheritance system, it reflects the social problems of unequal status of women and strong class color. Once a woman married into a kabuki family, she lost her identity, doing all the behind-the-scenes work and personal chores for her husband, and trying to have sons to keep the art of kabuki alive. Moreover, due to the restriction of the inheritance system, it is almost impossible for a disciple from an ordinary family to play an important role.
