Windows: Heat-insulated composite profile system with voluminous EPDM multi-chamber center seal with preformed angles. Increased heat insulation with glazing seal seated on the rebate ground. Uf values according to EN ISO 10077. Design values Uf,BW acc. to DIN V 4108-4: 2002. Doors: Heat-insulated composite profile system for single- or double-leafed doors, optionally without additional center rebate post profile, inward and outward opening door leafes. Design in panic function acc. to EN 1125 and emergency exit function acc. to EN 179 possible. The window profiles can be integrated with all performance characteristics. Fittings: Commercially available fittings. The profiles are implemented with a 10 mm Euro-groove. Increased burglar protection possible due to WK 3 safety class. It is possible to equip the doors with butt hinges or with mulitpart, fitted hinges. Design: Double wall, hollow composite profiles (three-chamber system) with even surfaced rebate bed. Dimensions*: Frame profiles: 60 mm installation depth (basic depth); window sashes 70 mm installation depth. Profile compound: Quality controlled, form-fitting and tensionally locked compound with at least 25% glass-fibre reinforced polyamide webs with melted wire inserts. The hollow composite profiles are suitable for subsequent surface working. Air permeability of joints and Watertightness under heavy rain: Exposure Category C acc. to DIN 18055

System Description 1. General This profile system includes heat-insulated, two-wall composite profiles (three-chamber system) for the production of windows and doors. Heat insulation is achieved by thermal separation of the inner and outer profile walls by means of glassfibre reinforced isolating webs made of polyamide, with special melted wire inserts. In a quality controlled process, the form-fitting and tensionally locked compound is created in the pressing plant. The design is in accordance with the state of the art and the directives and recommendations of the insulating glas, fittings and sealing materials manufacturers and meets the requirements of the “Directive for the Proof of Stability of Composite Metal-Plastic Profiles” of the German Institute for Construction Engineering,Berlin, as well as the requirements of the provisions regarding quality and testing of aluminium windows. The Uf values of the profiles and profile combinations have been determined acc. to EN ISO 10077 and are given acc. to DIN V 4108-4: 2007 in design values. The air permeability of joints and watertightness under heavy rain of the windows correspond to the exposure category C of DIN 18055. The construction of solid, safe and operational elements is guaranteed. The “Code of Practice for the Processor” in our latest main catalogue must be observed for the use and processing of our design. 2. System Scope This profile system includes window and door profiles for the construction of side-hung, turn and tilt, tilt and double sash windows, doors and parallel-slide-and-tilt doors. The main profiles include narrow and wide outer frame, sash, glazing bar, post and sill rail profiles. Additional profiles are respectively available for wall connections, as well as for expansion and decorative glazing bars. Glazing rebate strips for filling thicknesses (glazing thicknesses) from 18 to 34 mm are available. 2.1 Heat insulation The highly heat insulated design includes frame and glazing bar profiles with a frame profile depth of 75 mm and a sash profile depth of 70 mm for windows and 60 mm for doors, equipped with a voluminous, multichamber EPDM center seal.

The glazing rebate is additionally shielded against thermal radiation and air convection by means of multichamber EPDM cover profiles at both sides of the filling. The given nominal values of the heat transmission coefficient Uf of 2,1 W/m2 K to3,1 W/m2 K for individual profiles and profile combinations are given in separate tables and documented by respective test certificates issued by the Institute for Windows Technology in Rosenheim, registered association.

3. Design 3.1 Maximal sash sizes Windows: Sash width 380 - 1600 mm Sash height 600 - 2400 mm max. sash weight: 130 kg additional center locking points for sash heights or widths exceeding 1250 mm. Parallel-slide-and-tilt-doors: 1680 x 2200 mm from sash profile RG 1220 max. sash weight: 150 kg Doors: 1300x2300 mm max. sash weight: 120 kg 3.2 Statics The section properties of the profiles (inertia moment and section modulus, etc.) are given in separate statics tables. 3.3 Frame and glazing bar connection The corner and T-connections of the profiles in both cavities are made with glued in, aluminium corner or T-connectors, which are fixed with roll pins or with mechanical corner-connection machines. Water tightness at mitres and joints must be ensured by the processor. This applies especially in regard to the lower horizontal frame and glazing bar profiles. All orifices at corner and T-connections (continuous grooves of the glazing rebate webs, clamping grooves in the rebate bed, etc.), surfaces of base profiles facing the frame profile, etc., must be sealed with special care (in thin layers as well) with suitable flexible silicone and thiokol sealants. 3.4 Center seal EPDM center seal serving as frame with 50 mm preformed angles. Gluing with the preformed angles is effected with contact adhesive 905 410 (cyanoacrylate adhesive). The cut of the seal profile is calculated as follows: Sash measure minus 100 mm (2 x 50 mm preformed angle) plus 0.5 %. Example: Sash measure 1100 mm. Center seal cut = 1100-100 + 5= 1005 mm.

3.5 Glazing The glazing on the sealant free rebate bed is effected with preformed EPDM seal profiles. In order to ensure ventilation (vapour pressure equalization) of the rebate space, openings are built in with a minimum cross section of 15x5 mm or 8 mm diameter placed in front of the center seal that are leading to the ambient air. The openings are

located at the lowest point of the rebate and are provided at least twice in the lower horizontal. The external openings are located between frame angle and glazing spacer block, at a maximal distance of 100 mm from the angle. It is recommended to place these openings laterally and at the upper part of the profiles. The insertion of glazing spacer blocks (blocking) is effected on glazing rebate inserts of the system. The blocking does not obstruct neither air conduction nor water flow (condensate). If sealants are used for the glazing, the table “Exposure Categories for the Glazing of Windows” of the Institute for Windows Technology in Rosenheim, registered association, must be observed. 3.6 Drainage of the Design The water entering into the antechamber (pressure compensation chamber) is let off via at least 2 water drain holes, with dimensions 28 x 12 mm, in front of the center seal, directly to the outside. These are located at a distance of about 120 mm from the frame end, maximal distance being 600 mm. The openings are covered with drainage inserts. In the case of downward drainage of water, directly on the window sill or over a base profile, the entering water is let off through drain louvers, sized 28 35 x 6 mm. Quantity and location as described above. The respective drain louvers in the aluminium base profile 20 should be placed with an offset of 50 mm with regard to the louvers in the frame profile. 3.7 Condensation Water Formation The formation of condensation water on the heatinsulated composite profiles is only possible, if under respective interior and exterior temperatures, as well as under respective interior space air humidity, the formation of condensation water (formation of respiration water) would also be observed on the respective insulating glass panes. Profiles like roller shutter guides or window sills that are fitted additonally on the external side of the composite profiles, have a negative impact on the internal suface temperatures of these profiles and thus on the condensation water behaviour.

The processor has to take care that no cold air can reach the internal shells of the frame profiles when the elements have been fitted. This applies especially, if roller shutters are installed over the elements. In this case the face of the frame profile must be covered with fixed sealing strips made of HR polyurethane or polystyrene foam. Thermal bridges must be avoided.

4. Surface Working Regarding the surface treatment the FWB Guidelines, Edition 11/91, apply. Variable colouring of the profiles prior to bonding of the semi-shells is possible. 4.1 Anodic Oxidation For the anodic oxidation of the aluminium components DIN 17611 applies. The Quality and Testing Provisions „Anodized Aluminium RAL-RG 661” must be observed by the anodic oxidation plant. The oxide layers produced by anodizing must have a minimum layer thickness of 20 μm. Special care must be applied in the case of material that is to undergo anodic axidation according to the E6 procedure (pickled and eloxated). A guarantee regarding the suitability for this procedure can only be given, if the profiles immediately after their production are delivered to the anodizing treatment plant, where they are processed immediately. In the case of deliveries from warehouse stock we do not assume any responsibility for this procedure whatsoever. 4.2 Colour Coating Colour coating must be executed according to the „Provisions Regarding Qualtiy and Testing of Components RAL-RG 631”. The coating of the profiles is carried out by firing on of coating powders. Normally, polyester-based coating powders are used. Layer thickness should amount from 60 up to 120 μm at most. The coated profiles must be cured in a furnace at a maximal object temperature of 175° ± 10 °C and a firing time of about 20 minutes (after reaching object temperature). In order to ensure their faultless colour coating, the aluminium profiles must be subjected to careful pretreatment acc. to DIN 50939. Chromating is necessary.

5. Dimensioning of the Composite Profiles The dimensions given in the catalogue are planning dimensions. Due to different surface treatments they cannot be used as reference dimensions for composite profiles delivered by us.
