Piscina Mirabilis is a Roman reservoir built by Emperor Augustus in the 1st century AD,inorder to feed with drinking water the headquarter of his western Mediterranean war fleet. It was dug out a tuff hill, and it is based on a regular grid of pillars and arcs, with vaulted ceilings. This site are asked to reuse this space as a Contemporary Art Museum. To bring life back inside one of the most important reservoirs of the ancient world. Establish a dialogue between the past and the present.

I imagine the whole swimming pool as a new museum, a space dedicated to temporary exhibitions of contemporary art. The design concept of the project is to use circles of different scales to break the homogeneous space between columns. The museum design includes an accurate exhibition path for tourists to experience the swimming pool space, bookstore, bar / restaurant area at the end of the course and conference space for tourists. These spaces are available in winter and summer. There is a reception area in the upper part of the swimming pool. The lower part is designed with toilet (2m + 2f) and administrative office (3 people). The ramp designed by the project allows visitors to perceive the reservoir space at different heights. I selected the works of several artists and displayed their works in the space.
