The Leader Behind The Brand
Dr. Manjula Pooja Shroff was driven by a passion to make a difference and accomplish something significant in life from an early age. She knew that she wanted to contribute to the field of education since childhood. She recognized that expanding access to education to more and more students was a noble cause for which she was better suited. This realization occurred when she almost missed out on the opportunity to pursue education, despite coming from an affluent royal family. The patriarchal attitude towards girls’ education and the preference for sending boys for higher studies and marrying girls at a young age made her realize how many underprivileged children would be deprived of this opportunity.
Although Dr. Shroff managed to persuade her family to allow her to pursue higher studies, she aimed to open schools for all groups of students and create educational opportunities for all sections of society. With this vision, Dr. Shroff laid the foundation of the Kalorex Group in 1995 and opened her first school, Delhi Public School, in 1996 in Ahmedabad under the aegis of the DPS Society. This school continues to be the flagship school of the Kalorex Group and the most sought-after school by students across the city.
Dr. Shroff recognizes that visionary leadership is required to understand the demands of the future and the conviction to offer a variety of programs today to bring about change. As India progresses in every sphere, the coming years will see students spoiled for choices for their careers. She views herself as a participative leader who leads by example.
Edge In The Realm
“We have always been pioneers in implementing educational advancements in our schools. Be it implementing ICT in the classroom through wall projectors and laptops for students with pre-loaded content and curriculum more than a decade ago, we have evolved in our educational practices with changing times. Irrespective of the Boards that schools follow, we have made our own Kalorex Taxonomy which caters to all aspects of students learning and enables educators to know their students historically and holistically too. We allow for differentiated learning strategies to cater to all types of learners. Academic Excellence thus forms an integral Core Value of the organization.”-Dr.
Manjula Pooja Shroff.
