conceptualizing the technical

The conceptual ideas of this project are focused on the contrast bet ween the street pla za and the adjacent forest. With these t wo contex tual realities, we used the building envelope as a means to blur the edge bet ween interior and ex terior.

Formally, the building responds to these contex tual dif ferences by shif ting away from the central line of the project spine. This behavior continues through the studio spaces, as each year, programmatic shif ts will inevitably occur. Flexibilit y of space became a driving feature of our project with the interior volumes being assigned a range of abilit y to shif t allowing for a variet y of spatial condition.
